Dangerous Waters will be the first title of its kind, allowing you total control over multiple air, surface, and submarine platforms in a modern-day naval environment! The game allows you to focus your attention and to take direct control of individual crew stations and also plan and execute combined arms naval strategies from a top-down 'Commanders Eye' perspective. S.C.S. - Dangerous Waters allows you control of over 10 of the world's most potent naval units out of a total of more than 270 civilian and military surface, submarine and air units included in the game. Very well conceived and produced. I am not sure if any but the most die-hard naval sim fans will be able to truly appreciate what they have at their fingertips when playing.

The diversity in gameplay, multiplayer potential and mod possibilities all add up to make a game that many of us will be playing for a long time to come. Sinking your teeth into the game will take some time, but with the help of the manual and tutorial videos it is not that daunting at all.

One of the most detailed non-classified naval simulations available to the public. Definitely has the “Military Channel” wow factor.

The new non-sub platforms add a tremendous amount of interest and works wonders for the multiplayer mode. I hope to see add-ons with even more surface units. [Mar. 05]

Game Chronicles
This title is detailed enough to be used as a training tool for Navy cadets but is still accessible to the persistent player.

Da Gameboyz
From hunting submarines in a helicopter whilst utilising sonar buoys or making a tense approach into an all too shallow harbour to stick your periscope up and take a peek at what’s there, Dangerous Waters manages to simulate all the thrills and spills of modern naval warfare seamlessly.

A near-ultimate meat-and-potatoes meal for naval simmers. [Apr 2005, p.68]

IGN
Short of actually enlisting, games like Dangerous Waters are as close as many of us can get to knowing the how and why of real world navy operations. Sonalysts Combat Simulations really delivers on this score, authentically recreating the processes of combat, from identification to engagement, in a variety of exciting missions.

Easily the most engrossing and authentic sub sim out there. [July 2006, p.92]

Gaming Nexus
A highly-detailed, multi-platform naval simulator, perfect for fans of the genre. However, Dangerous Waters is also quite unfriendly toward newbies, so enter at your own risk.

Leave it to Sonalysts to create a modern-day naval survey simulation that has the breadth and depth of the oceans where the combat it simulates takes place.

With the ability to create your own missions and campaigns as well as pass them on to others ensures there is plenty to offer with this title and the difficulty making a game that should last hours per mission.

With a full range of attack subs, surface vessels and the introduction of aircraft it's amazing that a simulation can remain so detailed and focussed.

Dangerous Waters is a superb modern naval combat simulator but Silent Hunter III is destined to be a Sim Hall of Fam all-time classic. [June 2005, p.94]

If you know sod-all about sea-faring, and don’t have the desire to spend several hours learning about it before getting to blow stuff up, then watch The Hunt for Red October and get Silent Hunter III.

And even though the game is rich with tension (certainly enough to offset the mediocre graphics), unless you're at her majesty's pleasure, you probably won't have the time.

GameShark
A very good simulator for naval combat that includes realistic ships, aircraft, mission types and mission areas. This is a great naval experience whether you have legs born of years at sea or if you are just looking to get your feet wet (that pun was intended).

A good game insomuch as it’s about as realistic as you can get. But that devotion to realism can be an unforgiving master. If you’re new to the genre, stay far away from this game. It’ll only end in tears.

Michael MB gave it a7:
Not as good as I thought it would be. Only slightly better than Harpoon. Harpoon is harder to use, DW has a better GUI. Nice playing though. Prefer Fleet Command.

Adrian N. gave it a10:
This could be an aeronaval simulator. It is better than a game.

Jim C. gave it a9:
In a word... Innovative! No other simulation has tried to simulate an entire mode of war like this one. With it's new platforms (fixed-wing aircraft, guided-missile frigate and it's accompanying multi-mission helicopter, and a stealthy diesel submarine) Dangerous Waters is a true anti-submarine warfare simulation. And then the devs decided to throw in the nuke subs from before just to keep things interesting... It's a truly bold game design, and I hope it succeeds so more games like this will be created!

Santiago L. gave it a9:
Best naval sim I have played, mainly for the realism and the multiplayer, where you could play with your friends "inside" one of the platforms available in game. The multicrew multiplayer option rocks, there nis not another naval sim which offer this. IF you like Naval sims, DW is a must have

Roberto gave it a9:
A super naval sim really real. It's a pity that as many other minor Navy Units present in the simulation, Italian Navy Units are not modeled even if they play a role in the Mediterranen Sea that is an interesting area for a sim game like this. Hopefully waiting for add-ons and mods in this way!
