Outstanding in every way. All of the story elements, fantasy fiction races, and winning design elements have been retained, albeit in greatly enhanced forms that make everything feel fresh.

The exceedingly detailed characters have been perfectly animated, and simply look great regardless of whether they are wielding their swords and axes or casting spells.

DP is addictive. Sitting down to play through a few turns can easily suck hours from your life as a "few turns" becomes 50 turns.

This is an addictive, gorgeous, and challenging game that shoves a pie in the face of those that continue to foster the notion that turn-based strategy gaming is dead.

It's one of those very rare computer games that draws on all the usual fantasy conventions but presents them in truly inspired, artistic form...[It] has an elegant simplicity about it.

The turn based strategy game was surprisingly fast paced-there is so little waiting that I almost felt like I was playing an RTS.

For well-crafted turn-based strategy with stunning artwork and powerful AI, Disciples II is the way to go. [Apr 2002, p.70]

It provides simple, addictive gameplay for the novice with enough depth for all but the most spreadsheet-crazed war gamer.

You won't hear complaints about the graphics, which are absolutely gorgeous. For one, there is a certain style to the artwork; it's not quite anime, but it does have a hint of it.

Titles such as "Etherlords" have blown the genre open, and in comparison Disciples II seems markedly dated.

Dario T. gave it a9:
Great graphics for its time. Turn base is a very fun game style. The only con is the battles are not very detailed i would of liked to see the characters at least attack the selected character instead of attack nothing right in front of them. (for some ranged units and fighters).

Sotamarsu gave it a9:
It's like "mini" Heroes of Might & Magic or Age of Wonders, but it's totally different. Spells for blessing, cursing, damaging and healing and plenty of army upgrades.

Michael G. gave it a4:
Graphics are detailed but still confusing, becomes boring after a short while, because of the fights, which are always the same style with no strategic depth. Menus for building and creating troops/buildings are clear an constructed. But finally it is just a warm up of an old game concept, which could have used more innovations

Emanuel S. gave it a9:
I great game, though it requires a lot pf patience and skill. I would not recommend it to a person who enjoys fast-paced action but is great if you want a game with strategic depth.

Fayez M. gave it a 10:
Great Graphics. Extremely interesting.

Jonathan C. gave it an 8:
The graphics are great, the concept is also interesting. The only thing is combat, which becomes surprisingly boring after a while since there isn't much tactics involved in it. It would have been nice if units could move, and mages could cast a variety of spell rather than just one simple attack. Other than that the game is quite a lot of fun.
