Summary
Everyday Shooter is an album of games exploring the expressive power of abstract shooters. Dissolute sounds of destruction are replaced with guitar riffs harmonizing over an all-guitar soundtrack, while modulating shapes celebrate the flowing beauty of geometry. [Queasy Games]

PC Gamer
And if I were developer Jonathan Mak, I'd ask for a lot more than $9 for a game this fresh, this unique, and this enjoyable. [Aug 2008, p.62]
IGN
This game is worth getting simply for the audio-visual experience. It's incredibly rare to come across a top-down shooter that actually conjures a palpable atmosphere; that wants to lull you into a daydream yet demands your rapt attention.

A tough be very enjoyable hallucinogenic shooter that's well worth the money. [Issue#15, p.68]
PC Format
Worth a look for those who remember when shooters were tough (and own a good controller). [Aug 2008, p.109]
PC Zone UK
Fantastic soundtrack with integrated riffs and tunes. [Aug 2008, p.70]
PC Gamer UK
An artful but mild shooter. [Aug 2008, p.78]

If I had to judge this shooter after the first level, I'd have no mercy. Luckily the next stages show that it needs none of it. No two levels are truly alike, and the need to figure out the chain reactions turns the Everyday Shooter from a fragfest into a challenge. [July 2008]

This game has a surprisingly long play time. I am not generally a fan of shmups but this one was quick to grab my attention - and hold it. Not the most challenging game ever, but with it's art style and varied gameplay, it comes highly recommended from me.
John M gave it a1:
its a twin stick shooter, it does nothing new to the genre, its attempt to add guitar rythms into the game is pathetic, as a guitarist and a musician, that was horribly implemented and actually lowered its score, it would have sounded better with bleeps, as the constant arpeggios and broken chords been thrown out clashing against each other gave me a head ache, also as a twin stick shooter, its very boring, nothing exciting happens to speed up the pace of the game and i so no replayability, it just isnt fun, really dumb, this shoulda stayed only on ps3, really, this isnt worth the minimal price theyre asking, buy geometry wars a much better twin stick shooter that practically re-invetended the genre since smash TV
Ben S gave it an8:
This is a fantastic game - recommended by me. It's not a game for everyone; if you like synaesthetic shmups with a guitar instrumental soundtrack you'll like this. I think. My one gripe with this game is the point collecting; you get points by collecting dots from fallen enemies but these disappear too fast to collect them all.
