The Westerner 2 is a mediocre adventure in every aspect. Simple puzzles, bad controls and far too short playtime make this game a disappointing sequel to its great predecessors.

The fast paced story is entertaining, the cut-scenes add to the drama and animation and characters are exemplary. But the controls are imprecise, the action-parts are no fun at all and experienced players will see the sudden, uninspired and unsatisfying end in less than six hours.

If you want to experience the feeling of The Westerner, you should avoid this game. No mood, to less content ... maybe the creators of the game only wanted to use the name to make money.

At times, playing Fenimore Fillmore’s Revenge was a hoot as the quirky characters were like revisiting old friends and the puzzles with an old west twist are a unique change of pace. But the shortness of the adventure combined with the excruciating shooting sequences and occasional pixel hunting will have this game galloping quicker than the Riders on the Storm to Boot Hill.

Some sequels should never be done. Interesting and hilarious previous western adventures changed to a humorless story of revenge. A pitifully short and linear experience. [Oct 2008]
Adventure Gamers
Its western setting provides a nice change from the usual adventuring fare, but the actual experience offers neither the quality nor quantity needed to support its promising atmosphere.
