Summary
On the pitch, critical gameplay fundamentals have been enhanced to ensure that FIFA Soccer 10 mirrors real-world soccer, providing more sophisticated ball control, and physical interaction between players. In addition, players now move, behave and position themselves more realistically. On attack, players analyze space more effectively, curve their runs in an attempt to stay onside, create passing lanes naturally, and drive for more variety in attacking options. On defense, new concepts like position priority enable defenders to multitask so dangerous spaces left open by teammates out of position are covered. Plus, slide tackle targeting, press marking, and better-urgency clearance logic provide new options that make defending a tactical skill in FIFA Soccer 10. In goal, a myriad of improvements and refinements to goalkeeper intelligence result in a more responsive and powerful rushing system and ultra-realistic saves. Better balance on lofted through balls, improved goalkeeper intelligence, more realistic shooting mechanics with less shots hitting the goal posts, a practice arena to perfect skills, and a more immersive soccer experience through continuous play and quick free kicks are just a few of the issues raised by fans and addressed in FIFA Soccer 10. Three new innovations revealed today at E3 have been developed to change the player control experience in FIFA Soccer 10. The first-ever true 360 degree dribbling system gives players finer control of the ball, enabling them to find spaces between defenders that previously were not possible. Using an all-new animation technology, skilled dribblers now have the ability to face the defender and use highly responsive lateral dribbling to skip past him. An innovative concept called Freedom in Physical Play enables players to perform wider dribble touches and new collision sharing creates a varied, less predictable, and extended fight for possession between the dribbler and a defender. FIFA Soccer 10 also features a deeper iteration of the ever-popular Manager Mode with more than 50 major improvements, including new match realism, realistic player transfers based on multiple decision points, and true-to-life player growth curves. FIFA 10 is the reference for license-driven soccer. Intriguing gameplay, brilliant graphics and the huge amount of different modes are driving the series towards perfection.

Amazing feeling owning to the licenses and the new controls. Only the graphics are (still) not on high-end level.

FIFA 10 offers a few small improvements like new tactical options, but compared to Pro Evolution Soccer 6 it looks very dated. All in all, it's not enough to improve the rating compared to FIFA 09 and the series really needs a graphical update.

All the licenses you could want, but sluggish controls hold it back. [Christmas 2009, p.93]
Gamers.at
FIFA 10 for PC shows it's just a console game with dated graphics. Shame, cause the new features increase realism, but with graphics that look five years we can't recommend this version at all.

Despite a solid gameplay and a good number of modes, FIFA 10 on PC has nothing to do with the awesome soccer game that Xbox 360 and PS3 owners know so well. PES is still the better choice if you want to play this kind of titles on your personal computer.

Yes, it's a better start than last year, but it's still leagues apart from the Xbox 360 and PlayStation versions. [Dec 2009, p.106]
IGN
FIFA 10 on PC lacks the incredibly authentic gameplay that you’ll find in the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t things for you to enjoy.

Far away from ps3 and 360 excellence, PC version is dull less interesting.

Maybe the engine is way too old but the game itself brings a great football experience and fun. Nevertheless, all improvements can not hide the fact that a console version is light years ahead. [Oct 2009]
3DJuegos
FIFA 10 on PC is not a bad videogame, but has nothing to do with the awesome soccer game that Xbox 360 and PS3 have.

Off the pitch of course, FIFA 10 is the usual feature packed, licensed to the gills affair. It's just a shame about the actual football. [Christmas 2009, p.85]
SpazioGames
After three years, we haven't yet a conversion from Xbox 360 and PS3. There isn't anything about the next-gen masterpiece: Fifa 10 on PC is a more of the same old-gen soccer game. Now we hope that next year also PC users will play a really good Fifa. Rejected.

What we have here is a slightly updated version of FIFA, with a couple of additions, and a sackful of seemingly new bugs. [Dec 2009, p.58]

This came out of the studio that did the PS2 version not the next-gen version. It's missing a lot of features from the next-gen version so don't bother.
Mark Z. B. gave it a2:
It's not the same version as PS3/X360, a sluggish game engine, poor controls and outdated graphics.
Fabio S gave it a9:
It's all about the gameplay: the graphics may not be up-to-date, but this feels like real football as opposed to PES, which feels like automated arcade (or German) football.
Dennis S gave it a7:
Not bad, not bad at all. But it seems FIFA 10 for PC is just a cash-cow for EA, they're not putting a lot of effort in it, as it's pretty much the same as FIFA 09, sure some new features here and there, but I feel they could've done so much better had they spent some more time on it.
george n gave it a2:
The pc version of Fifa10 is a nightmare in comparison to the Xbox360 version. Its like different people designed the game and graphics. Even if the graphics were on par to the consoles , the gameplay is 5 levels behind.
Lipka gave it a2:
I got the PC version of FIFA 10. The game is a shamble. I cannot get any online match working as it keeps crashing. A number of people are also experiencing this. Also note there is nothing to be proud about the graphics. Just like FIFA 09, this game sucks! EA support also sucks - can never get anywhere with them. I knew I should have stayed away from it! No more FIFA from EA every again!
Jon K gave it a7:
It's ok, but the graphics engine is the same used on the PS2...time for an update i think? note, Cynamite's review (90) looks like it's based on the X360/PS3 version since they praise the obviously dated graphics as "brilliant".
