I enjoyed it more than the original, and for $19.99 it's a total steal for an expansion.

Fans of the series will fall in love with the second amazing add-on to Clancy's classic.

Smarter A.I. makes for some of the best firefights in any Red Storm game to date. [Jan 2003, p.104]
GameZone
Has enough wonderful extra and multiplayer maps to add more fuel to Ghost Recons highly entertaining fire.

It's more of the same. The same great gameplay. The same excellent level design. The same intense atmosphere.

Although there are a variety of objectives among the new missions, gameplay is not changed significantly in Island Thunder.

Its substantial single-player campaign and new multiplayer maps and modes (when you can get into a game) are definitely worth it.

It captures all the essence and excitement of the series even if it doesn't offer a lot of new elements.
PC Gamer
There are no huge new strides in gameplay, but the story-driven campaign is top-notch -- albeit murderously hard. [Holiday 2002, p.84]
Computer Games Magazine
The only thing you won't like is the deadly accuracy and preternatural instincts of the enemy. [Feb 2003, p.83]
Gamer's Pulse
The graphics are quite goods, as are the maps, with lots of little places to work around and use for cover. For the snipers out there, you will be pleased.

The difficulty level will undoubtedly spur a few people away. It's not crazily impossible or unreasonable but it's not as easy as some of the missions presented earlier.

With its serviceable single-player game and a gem like the new Defend mode, Island Thunder is a tidy little bonus juuuust worth the price.

Yeah, you'll like it, but only if you were hard core about the original, or haven't played the original at all and happen to like this particular game genre.

I like the new modes because each one puts the player on the defensive at some point, and I love being the centre of attention in a multiplayer game and facing overwhelming odds. Yeah, I'm a masochist, sue me.

I like it a lot.
Richard I. gave it a 9:
Dude, This game needs more new features but the graphics has improved a lot and i give it a 9/10, but they need the graphics and video a lot better like counter-strike or SOF2 Graphics.
