Strategy Informer
The Guild 2: Pirates of the European Seas does justice to the franchise and certainly shows in the areas it has listened to the community.

Starting a medieval crime family may not be everyone's idea of fun, but for those who are willing to place a daggar in a rival's back or to bribe a magistrate to get ahead, Pirates is a worthwhile expansion to its predecessor. [Oct 2007, p.70]
PC Gamer UK
New ideas save this buggy oddity from walking the plank...just. [Aug 2007, p.87]
PC Zone UK
Too much micro-management with virtually zero autonomy and common sense. [Oct 2007, p.85]
GameSpot
It's a second-verse-same-as-the-first stand-alone expansion that adds seafaring jobs but fails to correct any of the issues of the original game.

The Guild 2 works just fine with its original four classes, but toss in three bor-ing derivatives and it veers toward generic.

Mike S. gave it a9:
I don't know what kind of garbage computer these two cucumbers have; this game runs like a rampaging ape on my jawn. This game is in a genre of its own. Nothing like it anywhere. Upgrade your dinosaurs for this one boys!
Meestyk gave it a3:
Ignore this creature on your way to the game store. This is not even a sequel to the original game. More contents have been added to this nightmarish "game". Buggy and crashes are bound to happen on even your Quad system! Unless the creators of this "game" make drastic improvements, the game as it stands is far behind other games in the genre. Spend your hard earned cash elsewhere.
Robert W. gave it a5:
Extremely slow play- playing on Alienware desktop and laptop. Way too laggy. Otherwise, worth the money.
