Summary
In Heavy Metal, you take on the role of F.A.K.K. 2. Take her on a journey of unimaginable proportions where death and danger lie in the most unsuspecting corners of a world you have to see to believe. Only a story straight from the pages of Heavy Metal could give you the goods like F.A.K.K. 2 does. [Gathering of Developers]

It's as good as a game like this can be -- the only negative is that we've seen it all before.

Heavy Metal FAKK 2"will give you a good dose of fun while you're playing, although it is a bit short and there isn't any multiplayer to extend the game value.

Quite possibly the best action-adventure game you're going to play this year.
PC Gamer
This one goes right back to the roots of hardcore action gaming. [Nov 2000, p.118]
GameZone
In-game cinematics, challenging puzzles, plenty of weapons, hordes of bad guys, sprawling landscapes, and beautiful women, what more could you want?

A great game, and one that will keep you entertained for hours, the plot will keep you amused and the various weapons in the game will make for a great action adventure.
Electric Playground
A well-told story set on a lush planet with varied environments and a strong action heroin makes FAKK2 one of the best 3rd person action games around.

Sexy, frantic, bloody and beautiful, but it falls a short of brilliance. Beats Lara hands down, though.

The game is too darn short. Four or five additional levels would have helped to remedy this, but this isnt enough to irreparably damage the game. Its still a damn good title well worth taking for a spin.

The music and graphics will blow you away, and the game is pretty fun as well.

Minor quirks and the length keep it out of the 90s, but FAKK2 is definitely an entertaining single player experience.

It's a guilty pleasure, but a pleasure nonetheless, and as action-adventures go you could certainly do worse.
It's worth playing, and will definitely give you ten or so hours of gameplay goodness -- but it may also give you ten or so hours of technical difficulty.
Adrenaline Vault
FAKK 2 has a wonderful lead character in Julie Strain, and she's no doubt destined to overtake Lara Croft as the leading lady of gaming.

Finding better weapons and skimpier clothing is all rewarding enough to keep going, and hacking up big bad guys with even bigger weapons is entertaining.

But it's very far from being bad, and in fact, I can't remember having such a good time grillin' and/or killin' in a while.

If games like "Tomb Raider" are your thing, then you should enjoy this one. Although the action is similar, the enemies and storyline are more original. Overall, it's a fantastic game.

Now if I can only find that "Nude Julie" patch everybody's been talking about.
The gameplay is highly addictive and includes some nice, new tricks; however, the game leaves you wanting more than is provided, and the lack of a multiplayer really hurts the replay value.

"Heavy Metal" magazine is known, well known in fact, for way-over-the-top action, violence, and gore... There is none of that here.
A beautiful but flawed game, with easy controls and imaginative design marred by a surplus of platform hopping puzzles and a disappointing finale. It's also rather short.
Some good, some bad and no ugly, "FAKK2" is fun in parts and frustrating in others, and ultimately disappoints only because it could have been great -- more creative level design, more missions and a few weeks of bug testing could have made this a winner.
GameSpot
These technical problems, in addition to its short length and inconsistent quality, make Heavy Metal F.A.K.K. 2 the most frustrating kind of game: It's only decent, when it could have been great.
There certainly is potential in the game, but too many things about the game make it feel unfinished: the lack of distinct monsters, the degeneration of the level design as the game progressed, and the small amount of gameplay in the box.
The puzzles are utterly simple, the gameplay is too linear, and we finished it in about 10 hours.
