Summary

(Currently available in the UK/EU only) Whether large or small, the main difference between enemies in modern action-oriented RPGs has always just been the number of their hitpoints. Legend – Hand of God, the new action RPG by dtp entertainment and Master Creating breaks with this tradition, setting new standards. Thanks to the innovative Cinematic Combat System, orcs, ogres, trolls, goblins and their ilk will all be fought heroically in their own right. The Cinematic Combat System makes every monster brawl special. In Legend, gamers won't use their sword to tickle giant enemies at the knees anymore, but will fight them in a challenging and realistic manner – and in beautiful, spectacular 3D graphics. At the same time, Legend – Hand of God remains just as easy to control as other action RPGs. The impressive graphics are provided by an in-house engine, tailored specifically for the needs of an action RPG. Randomly generated dungeons and a manually crafted world on the surface bring the fantasy universe of Legend – Hand of God to life. A luminous spirit accompanies the players, giving them tips and clues, serving as the cursor and – thanks to real-time lighting – illuminating the dark corners of the world.

Legend doesn't offer many new things, but if you can't be better than Diablo, you can at least try to create a good copy. In the case of Legand, this was a wise choice.

Play (Poland)

It's just a hack'n'slash done (more or less) right, like Loki, Dungeon Siege, Titan Quest or grandpa Diablo. Nothing more, nothing less and it wouldn't be memorable at all, were it not for the cheeky cursor - a tiny winged lady sprite who offers helpful hints and abrasive but to the point commentary of our doings. [May 2008]

L:HoG has promise, but there’s nothing new to see or do here.

IGN

Legend: Hand of God isn't a totally awful game, but that said, it isn't much fun. Multiplayer would help, but it's still a pretty paint-by-numbers action RPG in a world where the Diablo series is still on top.

LEVEL (Czech Republic)

Legend: Hand of God is a typical kind of game that misrepresents itself. At first glance you see an astounding and flawless product but soon you will find out that behind the excellent graphics there is a half-empty world with repeatable quests and poor character development. [Sept 2008]

The very definition of average. [Nov 2008, p.64]

Computer Games Online RO

Ultimately, I think that the developers got bored before finishing Legend: Hand of God. And considering the game’s quality, it’s not really worth the admission price.

Legend is just another uninspired action RPG.

For a title like Legend, it's a first class ticket to the recycle bin. [Nov 2008, p.68]

What Our Users Said

The average user rating for this game is 5.8 (out of 10) based on 9 User Votes

Janos V gave it a1:
Not only is the gameplay boring and uninspired, but the "fairy" that acts as your mouse pointer has an excruciating voice and constantly makes stupid comments. I'm amazed that no one else has mentioned this, bad voice acting is one thing but the voice acting in this game is so horrible that it's painful to play.

Kelsey G gave it a1:
This game has potential but it has so many bugs that you would think they didn't even bother with beta testing! It was essentially released before it was finished.

Jan W gave it a10:
LEGEND is far better than most reviews try to tell you - it´s not "uninspired" (Gamespot) just because it´s from Germany and not developed in US. I think it´s better than Titan Quest and much more innovative.
