For many years the world had suffered from overpopulation and ecological destruction, until the leading scientists created CyberBrain - a supercomputer that solved all the global problems and turned the overpopulated and polluted Earth into Paradise. You are a young hacker. Once, while in cyberspace you managed to break into a secured area and came across a series of strange data packets. You hurriedly copied these to disk, not even having the time to read their contents. Only a few minutes later you hear a police siren, followed by banging on the door and demands to open up... Next Level Gaming

Frustrating because on one hand it does offer and present many cool things to the tactical strategy game genre – and does those things well, but on the other hand has poor design choices that make the game an endeavor just to enjoy the good aspects.

Gamer's Hell

The downsides include subpar voice casting, slow gameplay and rather dated by today's standards graphics. I wouldn't recommend it just to anyone – but fans of turn based strategy and RPG games might find a hidden gem here.

GameSpy

If you're willing to endure the bad dialogue, limited carrying capacity, and annoyances inherent with a fully turn-based game, you'll probably find a lot to like about Paradise Cracked. It has an interesting story, plenty of gear to find and sell, and unique characters.

PC Gameworld

Paradise Cracked is not the worst strategy game ever developed, but PC gamers needing a solid story to push the experience along will want to look elsewhere.

GameZone

A solid concept, but the execution is not all that good. The game is stereotypical in characterizations, the graphical quality is average at best and the sound begins well but breaks down quickly.

Gamer's Pulse

A lack luster game that had fewer strengths than weaknesses. Featuring repetitive voiceovers, an unorganized interface and a story that never becomes as exciting as it sounds.

GameSpot

Tedious gameplay, a plot that veers between goofy and incomprehensible, and an alphabet soup of grammatical errors render Paradise Cracked almost unplayable, let alone enjoyable.

Computer and Video Games

The dialogue is so bad, the voice-acting so hammy and the text interludes so laced with obtuse meaning that you'll be reaching for the quit button before you can say perestroika.

Don’t play this. And if you must go near it, make it only in the spirit of exploring just how wrong a game can be.

My biggest problem with this game is the sheer fact that the “Thoroughly modern storyline” is anything but. In fact it is as about as exciting as a show about painting fences and watching them dry and is as easy to follow as tracking a goldfish in the pacific.

I've read all of the reviews. I know the majority of the world thinks this is about the worst game ever. Malarky, I say! This game plays just like a table top RPG (acutally, it could have been called Cyberpunk 2020: the Game), and that's why I love it. I've been looking for something like this for years! Now, to be objective, the game does really, really suck, but if you liked Cyberpunk 2020, then you will sure as hell love this game. I give it: 2 neural interfaces up!
