Many years ago, a dimensional portal to the Outer Worlds was suddenly opened, and an enemy from the darkness encroached upon our world. Led by Pompolic, these armies of demonic hordes quickly overran most (but not all) of the planet. The origin of Pompolic is not known, but it is sure that this malevolent spiritual being possesses supernatural power, and his desire is obvious, possess the people and turn them into fellows of his dark army. The evil is spreading its power via his servants; the Dark Souls. These Dark Souls - protected by a horde of monsters - are poisoning the minds of his victims and making them slaves of evil. The denizens of this world are on the edge of total annihilation. However, a little hope still exists in the heart of the remaining citizens. They believe that there are brave hearts who can save the world from the source of the evil power. If the Dark Souls were to be captured, the onslaught would stop, and Pompolic would be defeated; the call for heroes is made...The game is placed in a fantasy world and divided into 12 maps. The player can choose between 2 characters. Each character has unique weapons and different abilities. There are 18 types of monsters, and at the end of the game the chief monster awaits the player. During the journey, the player gains experience which will help him to upgrade his strength, armour and health. [Quotix Software]

I apologize for the inconvenience, sir, but Call of Heroes doesn't come with any multi-player, though it does have 15 single-player levels and a few boss battles added for extra flavor. [Oct 2007, p.70]

This is Quotix Software’s first venture into this genre of gaming, and while some interesting ideas are at work in CfH, its problematic gameplay and shallow story eclipse its potential, resulting in a budget title that is far more frustrating than fun.

There are games that evoke nostalgia, and there are games that just feel old. Call For Heroes: Pompolic Wars, feels too much like the latter, and has a myriad of problems associated with its core gameplay that make it tough to play, and even harder to enjoy.

Game Chronicles
Find a good book and read, or get a real game, but stay clear of Call for Heroes: Pompolic Wars. It is that bad and if you don’t want to take my word for it then check out the other ratings, the average on the internet is somewhere around 2.5 out of ten. Yes, it is that boring and dull.

This action RPG from Quotix Software hits new lows in mind-numbing combat and ridiculously confusing level design.

There are plenty of problems and no redeeming qualities in Call for Heroes, and it simply is not worth your time and money.

Notice to innocent consumers: avoid Call for Heroes as if your life depended on it. It’s enough to destroy your motivation to ever game again.

G F. gave it a0:
Am finding it very hard to type this review because whilst playing this game I attempted to gnaw my own arm off through sheer boredom. The graphics are appaling, the gameplay is even worse and the story looks as if a mentally deficient badger wrote it. Steer clear of this game at all costs.

Vortex V. gave it a1:
This game makes the RPG style fall rock bottom. It's a cheap rippoff of other great games and dissapoints you everyway possible. The team that made this game should make it opensource. Perhaps it will have a future this way.

'Rockin!' gave it a2:
Lets pretend that 'Nathan C.' isn't affiliated with the team who made this game.. I 'didn't listen to the negative reviews' and gave this a try anyway, just as an experiment. Guess what? this game is no fun. Its sad, but true.

Nathan C. gave it a9:
Wow, this game is great! Compared to Oblivion, it doesn't quite make it, but none the less it stands on its own very well. A word of advice though, due to its heavy reliance on advanced lighting, detailed textures and advanced but CPU hogging AI, a powerful system is needed. Don't listen to the negative reviews, they obviously aren't playing this game with all the extras turned up. Rockin!

Robi S. gave it a9:
Cool game!!!
