Summary
Volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, tsunamis - the world is on the brink of disaster. By the time Nina Kalenkow realizes that the recent catastrophes were caused not by nature, but by an unscrupulous secret society known as Puritas Cordis, it is almost too late. While her ex-boyfriend Max, a scientist, witnesses the brutal methods of Puritas Cordis at the excavation site of an ancient Indonesian temple complex, Nina joins forces with a priest in France to investigate the connection between the secret society's sinister prophesies and the creepy leader of an ancient order. A dramatic race against time begins. Will the protagonists be able to avert the impending apocalypse? [Deep Silver]

Secret Files 2 gives to the player 20+ hours of fun adventure gameplay and brilliant puzzles. And more than this it can introduce a few of innovative aspects to the genre that the veterans will love.

Secret Files 2 is a highly-polished, enjoyable sequel that’s better than its Tunguskan predecessor in several key ways.

Secret Files 2: Puritas Cordis is a fun and interesting game, but unfortunately fails in several important categories. Although it’s technically sound, it loses serious points because of the same old story about the end of the world, but especially because the puzzles that defy the most elementary logic.

Old graphics and inadequate plot made Puritas Cordis not so good for adventure players. However, it's been a long time since we played a game with such a good puzzle-solving section. If you love puzzle and logic games this title may be a good choice for you.

Despite some disappointing enigmas, Secret Files 2 Puritas Cordis is a good graphical adventure, thanks to a very well developed narrative structure. Not as good as its predecessor, it still deserves consideration from every graphical adventures player.

If you're looking for a good adventure, Secret Files 2 offers almost everything that you could be wishing for. A good story, good graphics and that's all, because we're dealing with a simple but efficient point and click adventure that will satisfy anyone who usually enjoys playing with this genre.

You typical modern adventure really: none too shabby, but none too brilliant either. [July 2009, p.75]
Level7.nu
Secret Files 2 does come off to a good start when it comes to creating a likable atmosphere. Unfortunately the overall quality of the adventure is hampered by the constant swapping of environments. This leads to an all to splintered experience that fails to engage the player. The puzzles are far too often far fetches and challenging in the wrong ways. Add to this a mediocre plot and what you get is a decent game that lacks any real selling points.

Ultimately, if Secret Files was a surprise for its good presentation and story, this sequel was expected to follow its trail. However this Puritas Cordis shows it is not enough to reuse the same formula over and over.

Lame voice cast destroys the atmosphere of this traditional adventure game. But there are some catching moments which make Puritas Cordis worth playing...pity there are only a few of those moments. [July 2009]
Absolute Games
Puritas Cordas is a big fat zero that some people will, unfortunately, use an example for imitation.

Secret Files 2: Puritas Cordis definitely has no soul, and does nothing to stand out from the crowd. The game is easy and the only difficult puzzles are unreasonable and hazy.

An interesting story, but the overall package isn't engaging enough. [Issue#20, p.56]
