Summary
Developed in close collaboration with Shaun White, Olympic Gold Medalist and eight-time X Games Gold Medalist, Shaun White Snowboarding allows players to enter a world of total freedom, where they can create their own experience and choose how, where, and with whom they want to ride. Open World Mountains: Choose how you ride in open-world mountains across the world. Conquer extreme peak conditions, create your own paths in the back country, or compete with fellow riders in the terrain parks. Your Friends Are Always Around: Play in a world where your friends are always around. Do your own runs on mountains populated by real gamers, or join your friends for a quick session from any mountain. More than Just Snowboarding: Have fun with your friends on and off the board! Throw snowballs, hike to access secret spots, film your friends doing ripping tricks. You can also upload your videos online to share with the world. Ride Your Way: Express yourself through tricks, riding styles, and highly customizable avatars – both in single-player and in the online world. Use the intuitive dual analog control to pull off a huge variety of tricks that express your style. Next-Gen Technology: Built on the Assassin's Creed engine, this game creates a massive world with gorgeous visuals and realistic NPC interactions. This is also the first time a snowboarding game is completely driven by physics instead of animation. Authentic Snowboarding: Ubisoft has worked closely with Shaun White to infuse the gaming experience with authenticity, personality and humor. Shaun is a friend and mentor in the game, and will help you with your skills. And, if you are deemed worthy, you may even be able to play as Shaun in the game. [Ubisoft]

PC Format
It's a half-decent game at a bargain price. Which doesn't, unfortunately, make it a wholly good game to actually play. [Mar 2009, p.96]
GameStar
The game is stuck between being a dry simulation and an arcade-style game. It’s a weird mix without a lot of long time motivation. Some missions are too hard, the controls are not well done and it can get boring quite fast.

Soundtrack, multiplayer and touch of freedom are the greatest pros of this new snowboarding game. Unfortunately, you'll find too many backlogs during the course of game to fully enjoy the white slopes. [Issue#174, Jan 2009]
PC PowerPlay
Shaun White Snowboarding is at once the unfortunate victim of our towering expectations and the hapless result of a sloppy port. We've been waiting so long now for some decent snow, hopefully a more polished sequel will see us back on the slopes next season. [February 2009, p.60]
Play (Poland)
The good news is that it's the best snowboarding game in existence. Unfortunately it's also the bad news. Admittedly, riding off the trail, jumping over gorges and narrowly escaping the avalanches is lots of fun, but it barely makes up for burdensome assignments that are forced upon the player. [Mar 2009]
PC Gamer UK
With no visceral thrills and little reward from exploration, this becomes something of an empty shell, or perhaps a wonky snowman - likely to vanish from memory with the first rays of sunshine. [Feb 2009, p.70]
Total PC Gaming
To anyone less than a die-hard, PC-playing Shaun White fan: wait for budget. [Issue#16, p.64]
PC Zone UK
Handling is fiddly too, on both control pad and keys, and it doesn't feel as fun to play as Tony's series. [Apr 2009, p.70]

Charles gave it a7:
As a snowboarder I waited and waited and was happy with the release in general. The freedom to board where ever you want is just fantastic. THe moves are good and the range of gear you can grab makes progresion for cash a tried and tested method of progresion. My only issue is only having 4 human players in the game at one time. A good game to pass the time during seasons.
Brian R gave it an8:
This game may not be for everyone. If you like games like SSX or tony hawk where everythig is unrealistic then dont get this. If you like games like skate or amped 1/2 then this game is for you. It keeps you entertained and the mountians are huge. Some people are having problems with getting it to work on PC, but patches will fix this and such. Also the soundtrack is really really good. The gameplay seems to fast sometimes and the controls take some getting used to, but once you figure it out the mountain is yours
Kevin F gave it a1:
Got on Steam. Terrible. Update needed badly.
Admiral Bob gave it a9:
This game is great. It has a few kinks, but better than any other snowboarding game. Better than the other consoles (opinion).
