Summary

Sheep is a puzzle-solving escapade through crazy mazes starring those most lovable of all creatures ... sheep! Unbeknownst to everyone, these seemingly dim-witted animals are actually highly intelligent beings from another planet. Lost, alone, and now quite dumb, they need you to reunite them with their celestial ancestors. [Empire Interactive]

Gamezilla!

Fun and addictive, this one will keep you playing for hours. It's been a long time since I've found a puzzle game I enjoyed as much as "Lemmings," but Empire has a winner here.

Who'd have thought you could have this much fun with barnyard animals.

ActionTrip

A becoming and fun game. It can irritate you when trying to solve the same level 20-30 times in a row, but the funny little sheep are always there to give you a good laugh and make you think harder about saving that flock.

While Sheep isn't a good choice for the die-hard fragger on your shopping list, puzzle fans, Monty Python lovers, bad punsters, and anyone with fond memories of Lemmings will find hours of challenging fun within this appealingly ridiculous game.

All Game Guide

An impressive package, not only in that it delivers a highly addictive and well-executed game, but also because the premise is simple, well thought out and executed flawlessly.

PC Gamer

Definitely not a classic, but it's a fun way to kill time - and sheep. [Feb 2001, p.54]

IGN

Tricky levels keep the difficulty level high, though one run through the game should be enough for anybody.

GamerWeb PC

Hell...the levels are fun, as well as the bonus levels, but when the game ends there is a very empty feeling. If not more levels included there should at least be a level editor.

The awkwardness of the gameplay aspects greatly diminish an otherwise fine product.

The constant changes in scenery and obstacles also help to lift the tedium of endlessly chasing sheep around brighly coloured mazes, and while the game is best handled in small doses it is addictive enough to keep you coming back for more.

Part of the pleasure in playing Sheep is just experiencing its originality and sense of humor.

While the innovative game mechanics are challenging and fun at first, they quickly become frustrating where precise or fast control is needed.

Adrenaline Vault

Those who love strategy or puzzle offerings because of the ability to do some sophisticated problem solving will be turned off by the rigid time limits and the repetitiveness and lack of depth in the dilemmas presented. I cannot help, though, finding a lot about Sheep that I really like despite its failings.

A lot more work than fun. When I play it for long stretches, I feel like I deserve a nap on a bale of hay.

Yahoo! Games

Sheep's target audience is the casual gamer who's going to fall for the cutesy box art and admittedly well-done intro FMV. But, unfortunately, they're probably going to come away disappointed and frustrated as well.

Jasper K. gave it an8:
This game is just plain fun to play even if you are not a small kid. The concept alone is worth the four dollars I paid for it.
