With most of its crew missing and its weapons systems ruined the space research station Aegis is all but lost. As the last remaining pilot you must help rebuild the station’s defences, acquire alien technology and create your own uniquely configured set of fighters. By mining the asteroids within the grid dimension, valuable resources can be harvested to fuel the Aegis’s molecular furnace to build devastating weaponry. Within the nodes of the grid you will encounter allies to aid in the struggle to escape, uncover the terrible purpose of the evil Archnid race and learn why you and the rest of the crew were brought here. Apart from the initial learning curve, Starscape is a very artful and quality title. It is challenging, fun, and immersive. This is old school goodness through and through.

Game Chronicles
Starscape takes a very simple premise and control style and tweaks it and then just oozes style and substance.

Computer and Video Games
While the resource management is a well executed bolt-on, the 2D combat is the mainstay of the game and as new ships and weapons are 'researched', the game gets increasingly frenzied. Add in an enjoyably camp and stylish storyline and the resultant remix is addictive and thoroughly fresh.

Gamer's Hell
One feature I would’ve especially liked to see is a mode where you could see your score when playing, and by using the Internet have the game download the highscore list and have it display how much is left until you climb to the next spot, and possibly how much the person beneath you need to get to past your score.

Generally speaking, there’s nothing great or terrible about Starscape. It’s a pretty addictive game that’s done a good job mixing progressive- and arcade-style gameplay in its story mode.

Alessio P. gave it a7:
A little interesting game.... very funny, and the one you play after the end once in a while, 'cause its simple and stressless. Surely worth its price, much more than many other graphically advanced games.

MexNopal gave it a9:
Very good game. A must have for any gamer.

Heir D. gave it a10:
Just an incredibly well made game. Reminiscent of Star Control, Tyrian, Cosmic Pirates, but with modern day graphics and engine. Play this for 10 minutes, remember why games are fun. This is the sort of game we all wanted in the pre 3D era, but computers didn't exist that were powerful enough to make it. Why aren't there more game that update old classics in the same way?? It's like someone from the golden era of gaming was transported though time to the present day and given a modern PC to make a game with - Result: A total classic!

Nick W. gave it a9:
Best shooter made in 2004.

Joe 90 gave it a 9:
Surprisingly good indie game, a simple and rewarding old school experience.
