Summary

Star Trek: D-A-C allows fans to pitch battles between Starfleet and the Romulan Empire. Up to 12 players can compete in thrilling team combat. There are three game play modes - single player, online multiplayer and online co-op. For each mode, there are three different game types - Team Deathmatch, Assault and Conquest. Players can now choose from four ship types for each faction, including the new U.S.S. Enterprise featured in the "Star Trek" film. Each ship - the powerful Flagship, the aggressive Fighter, the nimble Bomber and the all-new Support Frigate - offers its own unique capabilities for players to master and manipulate as they fight for victory. The Support Frigate allows players to heal friendly ships and easily target enemy escape pods. New gameplay updates in Star Trek: D-A-C for PlayStation Network include variable AI difficultly settings, customizable goals that allow players to set game time limits and number of kills needed to win, improved mechanics for capturing control points in Conquest games, and host migration, which will allow games to continue even if the host player disconnects. IGN

Star Trek D-A-C definitely benefits from the inclusion of the single-player Survival mode. The multiplayer modes were all that were available when the game was first released on XBLA earlier this year, and the package feels more robust now.

It’s like a browser game with improved graphics. The upside-down look was a bad choice, everything except the survival mode get boring quite fast. So it’s just the hunt for a new high score or rank. Boring.

Blandly go where no Star Trek game has gone before in this unexciting multiplayer shoot-'em-up.

LEVEL (Czech Republic)

Fast and visually impressive but also too simple to keep you interested for more than a few minutes. Good for XBL or PSN but not so much for PC… [Issue#187]

tuéy k gave it a5:
Pretty lame game, nothing you haven't played before. It is like a browser game or a game on your phone. Played survival on demo for about 15 minutes then that was enough for me. There is no challenge, no fun and no point in this game.

Thomas S gave it a1:
Star Trek D-A-C has some bad controls and movement. The mouse control movement is slow and extremely sluggish. The ship control is also extremely slow and sluggish. Needs more control access so that mouse movement that can be set for sensitivity. and the key board controls are lousy and make it so hard to control the ships. Needs more setup options to make game play easier and less frustrating.

Mark G gave it a1:
This game is more what you would expect to find on one of those "Free" sites that offer things to occupy a bored office worker. It really isn't worth the £6 price tag.

Matt J gave it a5:
Great game to pick up and play when your bored or if you only have a few minutes. It has nice graphics and an arcade feel however it's lacking in the gameplay department. Very limited weapon/ship selection and only a handful of powerups gets painfully dull after any length of time.

Jeffrey O gave it a0:
game was terrible. I would not play again. not worth the time it took to download.

Kevin G gave it a1:
Absolutely terrible. You know its bad when the trailer spends 75% of the time showing shots from the movie. It reminds me of a 20-year old arcade game with updated graphics. In this game you spend all of your time hemmed in by floating space junk and using your mouse to blow up things that want to run into the ship. Basically, combine Asteroids with Missile Command. Unfortunately the combination does not work. Playing the demo, I had this incredible urge to want to "zoom out" to see more of this stupid space junk filled field that seemingly traps your ship while baddies come from all sides. That's the whole game! The ship designs and the theme music are the only tie to Star Trek. They could be anything.

Robert W gave it a9:
This game is really fun and addictive and looks good too. It's not a game I'm going to play forever because it needs unlocks like ships and weapons but it's still a fun way to waste some time and frag. The only problem is it needs more people, I can own pretty much everyone playing right now.
