Summary
The Federation believes that whoever controls all three Red Orbs may have the power to destroy the universe as we know it, so it's up to you -- playing as either Captain Sisko, Major Kira, or Lt. Commander Worf -- to find the Orbs first. [Simon & Schuster Interactive]

Antagonist
The most underrated of the Trek shows gets the best Trek game in some time; go figure.
Eurogamer
A solid storyline backed by hauntingly good graphics and sound, with entertaining combat and weaponry make this a hard game to put down.

Although the sleuthing has a little too much seek-the-key gameplay, its "Unreal"-powered graphics and friendly interface make this one a respectable addition to the canon.
GamePower
It looks marvelous, especially the character animations that have been especially tweaked to improve on typical Unreal character performance.
Game Revolution
If you're a DS9 fan, this is a good one. Heck - even if you're new to the series, the game can be entertaining.

There are just too many doors that don't open, or containment field barriers that can't be lowered, giving the rat in a maze feel to many missions.

Use of the Unreal engine brings alien worlds and starship interiors to glorious life in stunning detail and colour.

The game rejuvenates the series, and it's definitely not tailor-made for "trekkies" only -- any action gamer can enjoy the adventure.

Rises above its own occasionally clichés and standard third-person action gameplay with an effective atmosphere, solid voice-acting, and an episode-quality storyline.

Even if you're not a Trekker, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine -- The Fallen still offers some pretty solid action/adventure with top-notch production values
IGN
Play with moderation (read: take long breaks between missions) and, like a ten-pound holiday turkey, STDSN:TF might last you a good couple of weeks.

So if you're looking to immerse yourself in a finely honed Star Trek gameworld -- or if you just like plenty of action -- then The Fallen is definitely worth checking out.

What we have, in the end, is an engaging Star Trek game that delivers more story and replay than "Elite Force," but lacks the visceral intensity and multiplayer capability.

The million-dollar question ... is this game for you? If you're a steadfast-conservative adventure gamer, well, then, no. If you like to try new things, then the answer is a resounding yes!

Overall, though, The Fallen doesn't exactly leave you feeling like you've been through the mill, emotionally or physically. Think of it as being a cheerful diversion.

If word gets out that the single player experience is a bit short, and there is no included multplayer, then trouble is on the horizon for the developer and publisher.

A must-buy for diehard "DS9" fans, and a decent game otherwise. [Feb 2001, p.87]
Spank!
What is lacking in over familiar gameplay is made up for with impressive visuals, a genuine atmosphere and very friendly features and controls.
Game Over Online
While the game does have it's moments, it ends up leaving a mediocre impression at best due to a lack of creative gameplay.

If you're a big Star Trek fan, you'll enjoy this game immensely. If you're not, you'll still enjoy this game, but some of the more subtle nuances will be lost on you.
The combat and exploration never generate much excitement, though in certain areas, bad game design -- such as the illogical non-combat missions and the imbalanced enemies -- leads to considerable frustration.

Shawn H. gave it an8:
A pretty good time. The game has good graphics, good sound and ran on my computer without any glitches. There are three playable characters, and playing each character allows the player to see the story unfold from various viewpoints. Overall, this helps to expand the story, because during my first playthrough, some of the events were hard to understand until I saw the same event from a different character's perspective. This game was released in 2000, but even in 2005, it still holds its own.
Chris M. gave it a 9:
It's cool.
