Summary
Rewrite history with 6 full length, open ended campaigns beginning at key stages of World War II. Begin the war from the historical invasion of Poland in 1939, Denmark and Norway in 1940, Russia in 1941, Stalingrad in 1942, the invasion of Sicily by the Allies in 1943 or the epic beach landings of D-Day in 1944. Five additional mini-campaigns included, North Afrika, Kursk, D-Day, Market Garden, and the Battle of the Bulge each with clearly defined victory conditions and turn limits. Huge and beautifully rendered 140x38 2-D isometric tile map with a true-to-scale recreation of Europe (max custom map size of 256x128). All new unit graphics. Map includes greatly expanded areas like North America, the Atlantic (with Iceland) and a very deep USSR (over twice the size of the original map in SCET). Command the forces of 30 different countries, (6 major and 24 minor) including Germany, UK, USA, USSR, France, Italy, Spain, Canada, Poland, Finland and many more. [Battlefront.com]

Pelit (Finland)
An excellent war game. Blitzkrieg fixes almost all of the problems the first game had (a small Africa etc). The AI could still be better, though. [May 2006]
PC Zone UK
An effective, old school strategy game of properly strategic proportions. [Oct 2006, p.70]
IGN
While the abstract approach to combat might appeal to some gamers, we found ourselves wanting a little more information about how the game resolved combats. Beyond that, the overall presentation is dry even by wargame standards with some notable shortcomings in terms of the interface and the visuals.

Strategic Command 2 is best for someone entirely new to war gaming who is looking to get a feel for the genre. However, like training wheels on a bike it will soon outlive its purpose.

More boring than watching gravel. [July 2006, p.102]

BioWizard gave it a9:
I am addicted! Tries to remain historically accurate. Human vs Human games are the best. Of course, AI is weak but it cannot be otherwise which such an intricate great game!
David B. gave it an8:
Good, sophisticated, flexible game. Fun to play. AI is very weak. A few minor bugs which will probably be fixed in a patch.
