Immortal Throne continues Titan Quest's winning blend of killing, shopping, and strategic decision-making. It's a textbook case of a great expansion.

Immortal Throne takes an enjoyable game and ratchets up the fun a couple of notches, which is exactly what an expansion game should do.

It has something for everyone, including new players and those who simply want to raise their characters to the new level cap.

It’s not infinitely replayable, but it’s good for another 15 or 20 hours, which as expansion packs go is, I think, AOK.

With hundreds of great new items, some simple but effective new features, and a dozen hours or more of gameplay (which multiplies with the new difficulty levels), any fan of the game will likely find this to be a worthy addition.

If you loved the first then this is a must. As for everyone else who still hasn’t experienced Titan Quest, now is a better time than ever. An excellent expansion to an excellent game.

Immortal Throne’s not going to change the way you look at action/RPGs, but it breathes some new life into one of last year’s better games. For my money, that’s an expansion I can support.

This is an expansion that reinvigorates the Titan Quest experience and re-affirms the first game's quality. [Apr 2007, p.64]
Strategy Informer
There is definitely a case that some of the structural improvements and additions should have found inclusion in the original title, but all of them are well thought-out and implemented, adding longevity and replay value to an already deep title.

While Titan Quest is still a pretty shameless clone of the "Diablo II" formula, it's a pretty good one, and this new expansion is one of those smart ones that add new content both for high-level and newer players. It might not feel wholly original, but it's a fine pastiche of comfortable formula fare.

THQ has given us a great game, but it's too bad they haven't taken steps to protect it for those of us who want to play fair.

As an expansion pack it fulfils the role beautifully, bringing in features and elements that were sorely lacking from the original in terms of character management.

Don't expect any big innovations but if you enjoyed Titan Quest then you will love Immortal Throne.

There are no huge technical leaps or jarring presentational changes, just eight-or-so hours of extra content and some convenient and entertaining additions to the core gameplay.

Immortal Throne offers some really good high-level content for established Titan Quest fans to dig into, while retroactively adding small but meaninful improvements to the original Titan Quest.

Immortal Throne, which sends you to Hades to interact with numerous heroes and villains from Greek mythology, addresses a number of the most common complaints players had about Titan Quest. [Apr 2007, p.56]
IGN
A great addition to the original Titan Quest. The new inventory options and the new mastery skill add a lot of fun and convenience to the core game and the additional Hades act really extends the game nicely for players who have already completed the rest of the campaign.

If you've finished the original and want to keep that mouse finger in shape, this expansion is worth a trip to the land of the dead for. [May 2007, p.83]
PC Format
It's simply a tale of new areas and new monsters to left-click on with whatever over-powered kill-stick you have in your inventory. [Apr 2007, p.66]
PC Gamer UK
The new areas are the standout feature and shine in a way the original Titan Quest's levels never did.

There's something gripping about the constant surge of beast-slaughter, and who am I to deny such primal urges?

Best Diablo clone ever. TQ grabs the good ideas from Blizzard game, mix them with their's and present it to us. Furs hack&slash RPG I'v replayed more tha 2 times in years.

For those of you who can't get enough of DiabloII goodness and couldn't wait for DiabloIII, this is something which can hold down your lust. To cut it short, this is a photo-copy of the legndary diabloII, only better.
Nacho Warrior gave it a9:
Games of this type seem to be more and more rare these days. It gets a 9 for being one of my favorite types, but it loses a point for lack of sucking me into the storyline and having music that intreauged me (i'm picky about the music) I prolly shold have given it an 8, but I do feel that a 9 was fitting simply because you can't find a newer game of this type that's up to this quality. pros: Replayability, soooo many classes sooo many skills... gotta try em all out. Graphics; the game just looks amazing, and still taxes out some of the latest high end graphics cards (espeically if you turn on adaptive AA for the transparent textures) The massive amount of content: I enjoy finding new items and getting that rare purple item, although i think they could have expanded on the item area a bit, i definitely like that they concentrated on the characters more than we've seen in the past. No one simple upgrade path to follow. Very extravagant. cons: a few bugs here and there... nothing that bothers me too much. resource hog... but i'ts beautiful, this one falls on both sides of the track, depending on how good your pc is could have done a lot more with the items, like, a LOT more of them...it just seems like the items are missing something... i'd love to see more new ones introduced, but alas iron lore is dead now iron lore is dead now conclusion: I paid 20 bucks for the whole shabang on steam, downloaded fast, installed easily, and i was up and playing before i could get another beer. I was addicted. This game is worth buying, every cent, even if it were 30-40 dollars rather than 20. I must say I wasn't expecting to be as addicted as I am when i bought it (this is why i wont' by TF2) haha.

This game is fantastic, it is perfect for an enthralling abeit casual gaming experience, a lot of fun!

IT only adds goodness to an already great game. TQ with IT is simply the best of the Diablo-clones and will be a mainstay on my system for a very long time (and I've been playing since release). Not only does IT extend the game's main story, it also adds a plethora of useful enhancements right from the start (inventory auto-sort anyone?). If you are looking for a Diablo-like game, TQ+IT is it.

Much better then the first one. You get an additional pet, more bags to carry loot. I've only played once in a small group and found that when the loot drops and you don't grab it first your s.o.l. I would like to see that changed to where it is shared amongst the players in the group, items can be traded etc. something like Everquest. I really enjoy this game and play a lot.
