Summary
Top Spin 2 serves up 24 top-ranked athletes (Roger Federer, Maria Sharapova and more), a wide variety of events including all four Grand Slam tournaments, a multi-season career, and a set of new risk and advanced shots. In detailed, real-world venues such as Wimbledon, gamers can create realistic player models and their own on-court style with slices, drops, top spins, lobs, and drives against the tennis world’s best-of-the-best. For experienced players, Top Spin 2 adds depth to gameplay with a number of risk shots and advanced controls, giving gamers the ability to pick apart their opponent piece-by-piece. If hard-core competition isn't your thing, take it easy and enjoy multiplayer party games, like Splash Court, Wall Breaker, and Time Bomb. The game supports up to four players on a single PC, and two players over the Internet or a LAN. [Aspyr Media]

PC Gamer UK
This is a big, tight game that's just lacking in greatness or spark. [Feb 2007, p.78]
GameSpot
While the core content itself is still plenty good, this port of an Xbox 360 game is weighed down by stability and performance issues.

Still, Top Spin 2 is a decent, enjoyable tennis game for a modest $19.99 price tag. [May 2007, p.70]
PC Zone UK
Not only is the game accessible, it has a couple of novel game-modes to kick back with and offers a pretty exhausting career modes too. It's also quite technical, but it reveals itself in layers, a bit like "Pro Evo." [Mar 2007, p.72]

Despite the issues I mentioned, I had a blast playing Top Spin 2 - and so did my kids!

For a tennis game, TS2 is surprisingly deep. On the other hand it can also be frustrating as you realize that your player is simply outclassed by the AI.

If you’re really dying for a great tennis game on your PC, import the European release of "Virtua Tennis 3." The PC version of Top Spin 2 is a long-overdue and shoddy port of an already imperfect game.

Pete T. gave it a9:
Great if not best tennis game ever on the pc! It only took a super system to make it playable, though. Any agp video card system will not handle this game well at all, you seem to need a pci-e video card system, and probably duo-core cpu to go along with it. When you have the power, this game is simply awesome and the most realistic tennis sim ever, in every way.
Scree Gee gave it a3:
I just don't understand what happened. Well, maybe I do. Where the xbox version was nice, the pc version must be a totally UNoptimized rushed port. The game play is so choppy, on a 3.2 ghz, 2 gb ram, nvidia 7800 gs system, that it is 98% unplayable and therefore a totally unejoyable waste of 20 hard-earned bucks. Avoid at all costs, and have fun with Virtua Tennis 3 instead (much more simplistic, but at least it works well and smooth).
Hunter S. gave it a7:
The game definitely has its problems that are carried from the Xbox game, plus few other issues such as choppy animation and unresponsive controls at times. However, it is still a decent Tennis game, and considering the lack of good Tennis games on the PC, you should not miss this one if you are a fan of the sport.
Tony M. gave it a4:
HUGE disappointment compared to Top Spin 1, and the also new Virtua Tennis 3. Even on a high-end system, it is mostly unplayable due to a very choppy game engine, let alone the complexity of the "extra" shots that would add to the realism. Avoid this if like to play smooth action sims!
