PC PowerPlay

Trackmania has never forgotten that games are meant to be fun, and the latest instalment shows nothing has changed. [Jul 2008, p.55]

GameStar

The new version of Trackmania adds better graphics, more than a hundred new tracks and supplies the editor with almost 1.500 different parts to create new tracks. Trackmania United Forever isn't difficult to play but still challenging, supports your creativity, offers exceptional integration of the player community and is simply the best fun racer available for PC at the moment. On the other hand it's only an improved version of Trackmania United, so maybe it's time for something new.

PALGN

As a game, however, it works splendidly and offers up a bucket load of high speed thrills and some brain-stretchingly kinetic puzzle action.

It's refreshing to play a racing game that isn't about super-realism. Trackmania United Forever is a lot of fun because it goes in a totally different direction.

Craig M. gave it a10:
This game is probably one of the best PC racing games available! The possibilities are endless as you can design any track that you could ever want, in 7 different environments, in which each car handles differently. You can import your own custom car models that you can find on the web and use those to race with instead of the regular ones that the game comes with. It is completely customiseable and really fun. When you want to edit the look of your car models, you can go in and paint them in the paint shop, to whatever you would like. Also, the online community is huge as you can exchange a currency in the game known as COPPERS to buy other peoples tracks, cars, and mods. Mods can be used to change the way an environment looks. You can get coppers by winning in Official Solo Races. The possibilites are endless! Also, while you edit a track in the very user friendly track editor, you can create movies to play while your track plays. Something like a GPS where if you turn into a certain place it will show you how to get to the finish line. Buy this game and try it for yourself. Or start with the free game TrackMania Nations. It is all the same awesomeness minus the coppers, and it only comes with 1 environment. The online servers in TrackMania are awesome as well. Just buy this and try for yourself. Superb fun all around!

Tony M. gave it an8:
Not your normal racer, but very much fun (and frustrating at the same time). Not normal because you are racing against yourself and others for best times, there's no crashing into other players at all. Fun because you can do things with your car that are just, well, awesome. Frustrating because many tracks are next to impossible thanks to an incredible level of steering and speed control required (the combination is very important and takes lots of practice).

Ansel T. gave it a7:
Fun game for about the first 4 hours or so. Then it just becomes another game you play when your bored.

Mac M. gave it a10:
I like it. Free version to let you try it, then when you like it you can buy it to unlock all the boards. Plenty of free ones though.

bob r gave it a9:
most fun you can have with a racing game. ever. The only drawback is the slightly exorbitant price, but still mostly worth it. and by the way, if you're looking for realism, stay away.

Jungle N. gave it a10:
Tracks, especially online, range from the sublime to the ridiculous but they all make sense and most are a riot to race. The online side is simply brilliant and got me absolutely hooked. Edge of your seat kinda stuff. Deserves, nay, demands and decent gamepad but well worth it. Trying 3D out using anaglyph (red/blue) glasses is good for a quick laugh too.

Nukey H gave it a10:
If you want a racing game, you want it to either show off your skill, do extreme stunting or professional knife edge competition racing, or just mucking around. This game offers all of these, and not only that, It makes all of these elements fun, rather than a chore! So, you aren't into multiplayer? There are at least 1000 different pre-made tracks to work your way through! Even bored of racing? there is a free, built in easy to use track maker chucked in too! All you could really want for a racing genre.
