Summary
This is the year 1850. It's an age of radical change and new departures. The era of mass production and mass transportation has just begun. The resourceful entrepreneur has plenty of opportunities. It's a time to build empires with just a little capital and a clever business idea. New manufacturing plants are springing up everywhere. The world craves goods of every kind. Towns are growing at a breathtaking rate. But how to get the goods to the customers? How can workers get to the plants? Who will haul the vast amounts of raw materials? The time is ripe for a big and powerful haulage firm. Industry transportation in particular is getting out of hand and conventional methods just can't cope anymore. Invest your little starting capital wisely, buy modern vehicles, and slowly build up a growing enterprise. Present yourself in a favourable light to your customers, and oust your opponents from the market. You'll need all your know-how and your skills to survive two centuries of changing economic tides and changing demands. For a start, steam locomotives might do, but later on you'll have to replace them with monorails or even superconductor trains. The world is your oyster - grab your chances! [JoWood Productions]

Total Video Games
Nothing stunning, some might say, expect for a very solid and deeply challenging game... Nuff said.

A fine game that only requires a patch to repair the stability of the game: stop the crashing and end the bizarre temporary screen-freeze.

What should be very intuitive and easy to dive into, instead presents the player with a steep learning curve and a good deal of frustration. There is a silver lining, however, because if you stick with the game, it will become addictive.

Nothing new, its another business game for power hungry players and whilst it does what it intends to do well, you cant help but become a little bored at the limited structure of transport routes.

While not perfect and cheekily unoriginal, Transport Giant is nevertheless a fun if lightweight piece of entertainment.

Overall the game is very competent in what it does, though is nothing spectacular, and with the upcoming "Locomotion" I wouldn't really recommend it to anyone but the hardcore.

It's a straightforward strategy title that doesn't slip up very often, yet remains totally uninspiring. The visuals are solid, the core gameplay works well and the replay value is decent, but it never tries to do anything innovative or original.

It’s these frustrating issues, combined with a number of interface annoyances, less than inspirational graphics and frankly appalling music and sound effects that really hold Transport Giant back from being the entertaining sandbox tycoon game that it promised to be.

Transport Giant should have been an engrossing game; in its current state though, it's just a giant pain in the arse.

The interface is difficult in places but is functional and relatively intuitive - one part of the game that doesn’t need a great deal of explanation, mercifully.

Boring, broken, and as entertaining as a Bank Holiday Monday traffic jam. (We didn't like it much.)

Transport Giant is like a bad egg – it looks fine from the outside but once you get into it, you realise it’s just a big pile of stinking gooey mess... The gameplay is severely let down by the controls.

Rustam K. gave it an8:
Great game. There are some mistakes, some things are not like in real life, but the rest is OK.
Koh G. gave it an8:
Transport Giant is all about building an empire that transports goods and people to places that have demand for them. I like this game because its a great puzzler type of challenge as you build you transport network of planes, trains, and automobiles. The graphics is much better than Industry Giant 2 - its flashier and there is more detail. The one thing to gripe about is the interface - it's not too intuitive. There is also a lack of a in-game tutorial - you have to devote some time to read the book and follow through the tutorial within the book. If you liked Industry Giant 2, you will love Transport Giant as well.
Pablo V. gave it a10:
Because the game is good. i can play it for hours.
Mark H. gave it a 4:
The game has the content, masses of vehicles, lots of different cargo, but the way it is implemented is appalling. You are constantly fighting the unfriendly user interface and bieng FORCED to connect ALL of the railroads and never starting a new separate one is terrible. It just about put the nail in the coffin for me.
Vlad P. gave it a 2:
I don't know how to play. Shame they didn't put a tutorial or something. Nice graphics though!
