Antagonist
"Redemption" surpassed the hype. I love this game.
PC Gameworld
An amazing fantasy game, with a good story that has tremendous replay value.

If you've ever wanted to be a monster fighting for its soul, or if you've ever had designs of creating your own RPG, then let "Vampire" seduce you to the dark side.
Read Full Review >Games Radar UK (Pre-2006)
As a multi-player game, though, it has the potential to be unique; a user-definable game more like traditional role-playing than anything any platform has ever seen.

It has plenty of gameplay, and provides a very intriguing story line. The game redefines the RPG genre and is worthy of anyone's software collection.

Where there was mostly frustration before, there is now more room for fun and creativity.

If you're an RPG fan you'll enjoy it; just bear in mind you'll need to go online to best experience it.
Adrenaline Vault
Can deep characters, a great story, wonderful atmosphere and exquisite graphics overcome a flawed interface and horrible artificial intelligence to make a great game? Not quite, but it still makes for a darn good one.

Combines spine-tingling combat, sweet character development and solid story with one hell of an editor.

If you are not the squeamish type, and you enjoy RPGs, this game may give you that dark thrill youve been waiting for.

Playing "V:TM Redemption" was a real love it, hate it experience.
PC Gamer
Fresh out of the box, it's disappointing. But with patches, it could be the king of RPGs. [Sept 2000, p.95]
Cincinnati Enquirer
For a game that looks so good, it's a shame it can also be a pain in the neck.

A grand mess, a game that for all its beauty and energy is plagued by problems which keep it from being a truly great game.
A slew of design issues and bugs rear their ugly heads, making this a game that doesn't live up to its full potential ... yet.
CNET Gamecenter
Part of you will want to see where the story goes, even as another part will want to go back into the dark to suck blood and kill the wicked, and that mix will keep you plowing onward.
Happy Puppy
But if you subject the actual gameplay to any real scrutiny, you'll see all sorts of cracks that mar the game's beauty.
It's got a great premise and an ambitious design, but the game is mired by its repetitive and often frustrating combat, ill-fated design decisions, and forgettable characters and story.
When it works, it sucks you right in, and when it doesn't you just end up slogging through, expecting the good stuff around the next corner.
The weak cutscenes, poor combat system and somewhat redundant spell system don't help its cause, and the game falls far short of what it could have been.
Unfortunately, it also has crippling flaws that suck fun out of gameplay like a starving Nosferatu gnawing on a rat.

EtaYorius Mystic gave it a10:
THE Best RPG EVER, honestly... you have to check on what the community has done, there is still community that support this game even after 9 years of its release, i dont understand how the "Critics" say its repetivive... im sure they never EVER played with the ST System which was copied by Neverwinter Nights, a MUST play RPG for a true RPG and Vampire fan.
John R. gave it a9:
In my opinion one of the best RPGs ever. Yes, it gets quite monotounous often but which typical hack & slay doesn't? And unlike Dungeon Siege or Diablo Vampire comes with a stirring storyline that's being told in billions of lines of beautiful dialogues. It's a pity that it had been forgotten so fast. As for me: I'll definetely replay the main storyline at least one more time (I've already done so twice).
WaightZer gave it a10:
One of my most favorite PC games ever. Very good graphic for its time. All movie vampires become weak comparing the ones in this game.
Avi gave it an8:
One of the best storytellers. The adventure, the magic, the power amazingly astonishing. The RPG interface really sucked. They could do better then a "mouse fighting" interface... Few bugs, but nothing to worry about.
John gave it a 10:
Where is the second part??
Bruno M. gave it a 10:
The game is the best , but sometimes the rats go past the wall but i am sure that is not a problem, they are probably phantom rats!!
Nick L. gave it a 10:
It Rocks!!! This is THE GAME!!!
