Summary
Xpand Rally is a breathtaking game that gives you the true to life experience of driving powerful rally cars amidst photorealistic sceneries. Realistic weather effects, rolling hills, and animated scenery all add to game's visual perfection. Xpand Rally also features highly detailed models of modern rally cars and handling physics developed with the help of rally sport professionals which further enhance the realism of driving experience. Xpand Rally combines the best elements of Rally and Rally Cross racing in one unique gaming experience. The game offers a career mode based on time trials during both: individual races and World Championship Series which will satisfy traditional Rally fans. The Rally Cross fans won't be disappointed either - they can challenge several opponents in head to head racing during competitions based on real and fictitious race events. Xpand Rally, as the only title on the market, brings the economy factor into a rally game. The player starts with a junk car and competes in races to earn money and acquire upgrades, repair damage, tweak performance and pay the race entry fees. [Techland]

Replays are stunning with all the cameras and visual effects and the game comes with a built-in track editor which lets you import, modify and create tracks. What more do you want?!?!?

Although its budget pricing suggests otherwise, the game is impressively appointed and wonderfully rendered. The physics modeling is superb, and the damage modeling is nothing short of stunning.

For twenty bucks this is a pretty great game, especially if you’re big into rally racing.

The visuals are absolutely breathtaking, whether it is the incredible lighting effects, lush environments, or the fine details that are often overlooked by other games, XR delivers.

Its resplendent scenery, changeable weather, and exquisite lighting and particle effects are absolutely mesmerizing. [Holiday 2004, p.104]

Craig R. gave it a9:
Great effects and realism. Once you get to the AWD vehicles it gets a lot more fun
David H. gave it a1:
This game is the worst rally game I've ever played, pretty graphics can't hide the poor physics of the game mechanics. A 2 year old may enjoy this but for those who demand some realism in the handling of the car then stay well clear of this game. Its a shame because had the physics been good and combined with the pretty graphics this might have been ok but as we all know, graphics do not make a game alone especially in sim racing type games. I completed just 6% of this game and now uninstalled it, it's that bad. Obviously the people who have voted 9-10 have no idea about these types of games and so i suggest to anyone wanting this sort of rally game, go and but Richard Burns rally or Colin Mcrae Rally or Even RFactor or GTR2, just avoid this pile of junk.
Plebe G. gave it a0:
Sucks. Screen is washed out bright white, can't see anything but the grass. NO SUPPORT. Don't buy this game.
Marek P. gave it a9:
Its an amazing game...graphics are amazing and great gameplay.
Ian H. gave it a10:
This Is A Truly Breathtaking And Realistic Game ...The Makers Paid a lot of Attention To The Excellent Graphics And The Superb Gameplay Engine.
James H. gave it a9:
This game is a stellar rally racing game developed by Techland. If you want a game that has superb graphics, realistic physics and a great level of detail this is it. The only reason why this game doesn't get a 10 is because they couldnt license the cars, which means you will be driving a Sunami instead of a Subaru - of course, modelled after the real thing.
Tim G. gave it a10:
I'm not normally a person who likes racing games, they tend to be a bit samey but I was wrong, very wrong. The modelling is fantastic and the graphics really are something to see for yourself. Its a game that virtually everyone in the house will enjoy, even if it's just to crash down the mountain side.
