Hot Games
It brings back all the web-slinging, smart-mouthing, fast action of the original, and adds layers of depth and richness to both the graphics and the game play.

PSX Nation
The kind of sequel that might disappoint many with its lack of change and innovation. At the same time it's a by the book sequel that continues the exciting play of the original.

It’s the style of the game that makes Spider-Man a cut above the rest. Unlike most super-hero based games, Spidey is created for the fans, who'll lap it up.

Features the same ingredients that made the original delightful, but with new villains and a well thought out story.

It is considerably more challenging than the first at many points, yet it doesn’t have quite the polish of the original.

Treads familiar ground, but does it well, making this sequel worthwhile for anyone who enjoyed the first game and a must for anyone who hasn’t moved to the 128-bit gaming world just yet.

Controls will take a bit of getting used to. There are a variety of controls elements to get used to, and it will take some players up to 15 minutes to get comfortable with them.

Game Revolution
Even with the goofy camera, unnecessary cut scenes and mediocre voices, this is probably the best superhero game for the PSX.

It's somewhat disappointing when, only three to four hours into the game, you've reached the final climactic battle.

Vicarious Visions fails to match the overall magic captured so well by Neversoft's original. [Nov 2001, p.168]

Not as exceptional as the original. [Nov 2001, p.112]

No game’s shoddy camera in recent memory has given me more headaches than this one, and it couldn’t have happened to a better game. [Nov 2001, p.218]

[Miss = 50 on Radar scale] Unfortunately, the fidgety camera is so poor and makes searching such a bleeding chore that being Spider-Man seems a dull job.

The game's controls were the reason I hated it so much; I'm sorry I come back to this so much, but the controls are just so bad! Combined with the drunk cameraman, it made this game hard, not in the challenging fun way.

I loved it!!!!!!

I think this a good game, although the camara angles stink and the game is much too short. Overall it is a pretty good game.

Green L. gave it a 7:
A spiffy game, I played the one before thay change it due to 09/11/01 so I don't know what thay changed, and/or if it as good.

Karl D. gave it a 7:
Well its spidey once again! This game is enjoyable for this reason as you play with a great super hero on high buildings. But the horrible controls, and not much variety in gameplay do not make this game a high class game. But as I much like spiderman, I quite enjoy it.
