The others try for the Big Show, but will get sent back to the Cactus Leagues when you get your hands on this.

All-Star Baseball was always one of the best console baseball series when it was on the Nintendo 64, but it's amazing how much the PS2 and Acclaim Sports' two years of development have added to the series. Most impressive are the excellent player models and faces.

One of the most feature rich baseball games that you'll find on a console. It doesn't offer nearly as much as the typical baseball simulation on the PC, but most players will find that all of the important bases have been covered here.

If you're into baseball, then this is the game to get--its presentation is extremely polished, and it really delivers the experience of being at and playing in an actual MLB game.

It will alternately excite and frustrate you, but for the time being, there is no better baseball experience on the PS2.

This is definitely a game for baseball fans.
All Game Guide
Leveraging great depth, wonderfully simple play mechanics, and competent graphic touches, this game should last as long as an official baseball season.

Possibly the best all-around baseball game for the PlayStation 2.

The graphics are clean, but camera flaws ruin the fielding in the game.

You will find that it is a much better and more realistic game if you play against another human instead of the computer.

Gameplay is a definite mixed bag but I think there is more good than bad, and it's a great game, if you can get past the quirky bugs.

In gaming terms, ASB is like SNK in the "Street Fighter" versus "King of Fighters" debate, good but not quite the best.

There are very bad collision problems with the ball and the fielder. I can't explain how frustrating it is for a player to catch a ball that is seven feet away from his glove.

With bugs galore, shoddy fielding, and poor base running AI, ASB 2002 takes a step down from the series' legacy of excellence.

The batting and pitching interfaces are as good as we remember them from the stellar N64 games, but the fielding transitions are terrible and there are graphical bugs that are unforgivable. The game looks okay, with nice character models but lifeless environments and stadiums -- but it's just not what you'd expect from a PS2 sports game.
GamerWeb Sony
Underneath the silver lining of good graphics and bunches of options lies seriously flawed gameplay that ultimately ruins the experience.

I like the features of all star baseball 2002 and the graphics are better and that beats Triple play 2002.
Kain R. gave it a 10:
Wonderful game no gliches ever.
