Hot Games
Its a great snack until the Hawk strikes back. Pick it up now and youll be done with it by the weekend.

Once you master the controls, you'll love it. [Oct 2001, p.135]
Sports Gaming Network
Unless you have an extreme fascination with the X Games or worship the switch-stance prodigy Bob Burnquist, you should save your $50 and wait for Mr. Hawk's forthcoming 128-bit appearance.

Since they opt for realism at the expense of fun, you just cant pull off those sick, death-defying feats you can in other games.

It's not quite the "Tony Hawk's Pro Skater" equal but still worthy of your summertime void.

You havent experienced big air until youve tried this pup. No joke, on the vert ramps you literally float for 2-3 seconds a pop. [Sept 2001, p.141]
Gaming Age
I cant say I didnt have oodles of fun with X Games; it just didnt last too long. Boredom grew on me after a few runs through, and shamefully wouldnt have with a few more features thrown in along with better visuals.

Poor framerate, small cast and moves, and poor replayability among other issues. "Tony Hawk's Pro Skater" sells millions for a reason -- this just isn't it.

When will ESPN learn the difference between a game worth endorsing and one thats utter garbage? Not soon enough, apparently.

A couple of the game's levels show some interesting design (the deck of a cruise ship and a hellishly unrealistic portrayal of New York as a post-apocalyptic wasteland), but the lack of real innovation in the game severely limits its lifespan.

The interface and presentation elements are nice to look at, but when that's the biggest thing your game has going for it, you are in real trouble.

A pretty weak game. With poor control, counterintuitive level design, and drab graphics, X Games Skateboarding is best suited for skateboarding fans looking for a quick fix in the form of a rental.

Fails in the most basic concept, which would be to bring something new to the table. Its just another washed up "Tony Hawk's Pro Skater" clone.

Unfortunately, there really isn't much more meat on the bones here. No create-a-skater, no skater statistics to flesh out or tweak, not even a bunch of new outfits or anything.

This game was good over all. Great graphics. Alsome sound track they have American Hi-Fi Linkin Park Newfound Glory Sum 41 and more. The controls really suck. Its really hard. But over all it alsome. But Bob should stick with Tony Hawk Pro Skater games.
Adam L. gave it a 9:
Good graphics, hard to finish, good playability. But you cant beat Tony.
