Play Magazine
The most realistic and technically advanced soccer game to date. It's almost too real. [Dec 2002, p.91]
Official U.S. Playstation Magazine
The controls have been totally overhauled, and you now have an unprecedented level of influence over the ball. [Dec 2002, p.160]
GamePro
Totally revamped from the ground up, and it shows. Great graphics and the best gameplay the series has seen in years.

"Pro Evo" is still the better game, and will last you longer, but FIFA is arguably the sweeter experience in the short term. FIFAs presentation, style and gameplay are all great, but "Pro Evolution Soccer 2" gives the hardcore footy fan the chance to really live out their footy fantasies.

The improvements in the gameplay department went a long way towards making this the most realistic footie game to ever grace a next-generation console.

Its hard not to enjoy FIFA 2003 and, though not in the same league as "Pro Evolution Soccer" in terms of gameplay, for the gamer who wants the most atmospheric and authentic football experience there is no equal on PS2.

An excellent game that will appeal to any soccer fan who prefers realism to the fast-paced, high-scoring style of other soccer games.

The control system just isn't up to scratch and this makes passing the ball a bit like searching for a needle in a haystack.

The new look, improved AI, updated rosters and better physics are definitely worth the price of admission.

A new control scheme has been put into place that greatly affects how FIFA is played, but it doesn't quite deliver.

The framerate troubles are disappointing. [Holiday 2002, p.54]
Absolute Playstation
It suited my short passing style (didnt much fancy 2002 tho) and there were just a few niggles with the gameplay that left you feeling this could have been better.

The slick presentation, amazing visuals and authenticity do a great job of sucking you in, however those whove sampled the delights of "Pro Evo" will soon been yearning for the realistic and intuitive controls and gameplay of Konamis match winner.

A fun game. But it is not as good a simulation of soccer as it could be. Too much of the gameplay feels scripted, and although you can pull off some beautiful moves, the unexpected occurs far too seldom.

Fifa player gave it a 9:
Fantastic game the players are the same like the real......they doing tricks, like zidane do....I enjoy playing it very much.
Rocky B. gave it a 9:
Best soccer game ever. Best soccer graphics ever. Its a shame that the passing isn't good, it really pisses me off how you contiuly pass to the other team, when there is a free man right next to you. I the passing was better this game would be unstoppable.
Smoke sumon gave it a 10:
You're all on crack. This game is the sh.t. This sh.t is the sh.t. You guys must not play soccer in real life because if you did then you would know that this game is the best one out.
Seb R. gave it a 5:
PLEAAASE dont waste your time playing this game and get pro evolution soccer 2 instead.....hire fifa for a night, then go out and buy pes2! Seriously anything is a joke when compared to pes2.
Adam M. gave it a 10:
So realistic it feels like playing in the Premier League. I can't stand not seeing the kits and stadiums form the real world of football. Thankgod EA decided to update the gameplay for 2003. Now we have the game that plays like it looks!
Dan gave it a 9:
This title will suit anyone weather your into football or not, it's the most authentic,up-to-date footie sim out there, it includes all the teams of the world cup in korea/japan 2002,as well numerous other tournaments too, including the champions league. There are things that still need to be improved though-it needs more content, but this can all happen hopefully in FIFA 2004.The good thing is all FIFA games are different from one another, this one certainly is the best so far.
Jonathan M. gave it a 9:
