Although short (about 10 hours of play, not including mistakes) it seemed just right and there’s probably nothing more that could have been added that would make it any better.

Adrenaline Vault

Ico is one of those rare titles that you don't so much play as experience. Many adventure games boast this same interactivity and immersiveness, but with its careful blending of genres, delicate balancing act between a story of growing love and mounting horror, and a brilliant system that also incorporates tense moments of action, Ico really lives up to its claims.

Stands out among the pack as one of the most awe-inspired games to hit a console since the release of "Final Fantasy VII." The unbelievably gorgeous visuals, that feature a level of detail never quite seen in a game before, are beyond words. Describing something as beautiful as ICO is hard to do. ICO is hands-down the best adventure/puzzle game of our time.

There's only so much we can say to convey the atmosphere that ICO exudes, and to try and communicate the feelings that the game brings about when played but, the truth is, the reality of playing (now there’s a contradiction of sorts, but we’ll stick with it) is largely indescribable.

ICO is destined to become one of the most talked about PS2 games of all time. While it may be short in length and sparse in complex gameplay, it is a masterpiece of gaming engineering that proves once and for all that style and quality will always prevail over the hordes of mediocre titles that trickle in to fill out the PS2 library.

Though the shortness of a game may sound like a flaw, it’s really not. In ICO’s case, a longer length would have made the game quite tiresome as puzzle solving & pulling the girl from he pits of hell could tend to get a bit repetitive.

Rey A gave it an8:
Ok, so I played this thinking it'd be as good as Shadow of the Colossus. I was wrong. It was fun, but I got stuck too often and had to refer to the walkthrough every half an hour or so. I didn't like having to carry the girl around with me; she gets kind of annoying. This reminds me of the puzzles from God of War. What could have made this better: less annoying girl following me around, more hints to solving puzzles on my own, better camera angles and camera work, and a better way of fighting or at least more variety of enemies.

Marto M. gave it a10:
A fantastic tale, tragic, and enigmatic. This game had an unmatched atmosphere, and the scale of the architecture that you traverse has an almost haunting effect due to its drastically isolated feel. Everything feels natural, and the lack of music throughout most of the game gives it an eerie ambiance. Everyone should play this! Beautiful title, with something to offer that's never been seen before, or seen since. Even its successor, Shadow of the Colossus, doesn't quite measure up in terms of atmosphere.

Rob C. gave it a9:
What an original game. And the idea where there are no obvious clues to how you'd solve a puzzle is genius. These are the true puzzle games, where only you can figure this one out. A game that will always be remembered in my book.

Nick C. gave it a10:
I have only played the demo of this game and thought it was really cool. Good graphics, good gameplay, good story how much better can it get?

[Anonymous] gave it a10:
The best game I ever played. Stunning visuals, superb music and great story. Don't miss this!

Elise E. gave it a10:
Quite honestly my favorite game to this day, absolutely breathtaking.

Ines dg gave it a9:
This game is a masterpiece, but it is not for everyone, it is a little bit hard and the the puzzles and enigmas are very hard to solve.
