Official U.S. Playstation Magazine

It keeps you on the edge of your seat the entire way through. It's an amazing rush. [Nov 2001, p.155]

GameShark

A little "Tony Hawk," a little "SF Rush 2049," and a lot of "Wipeout" mixed together perfectly to form one of the best racers in a while.

GameSpy

It’s a fast-paced, adrenaline rush kind of game, and it’s really quite difficult, but that should just mean it’ll keep you busy for a while.

GamerWeb Sony

Takes an established genre and gives it an SSX-style touch. Wipeout fans everywhere should give this game a try.

Core Magazine

The slammin' soundtrack and an engaging trick system overcome a somewhat inconsistent framerate to make Kinetica more interesting than most its competitors.

Gamezilla!

The unique racing experience offered here stands out from the pack of futuristic titles with high-speed action and gorgeous graphics.

Into Liquid Sky

The 2-player aspect of the game is limited by the poor field of view (which would have been better handled with an i-link and two TVs), but the single player mode is serious futuristic racing at it's best.

With a limited number of tracks and hidden riders to expand the game, you may find that it’s biggest challenge will be keeping you interested past the rental return date.

IGN

It's a very fast and fun racing game, as well as a very challenging one.

Electric Playground

Kinetica has done bold new things with track design and playability, as well as giving gamers the sugar rush of speed that racing game fans crave.

Game Informer

A graphically impressive, inventive racing title that is somewhat diminished by slightly erratic control and lack of depth. [Nov 2001, p.108]

GameZone

Not only is it superior to the competition in every graphical aspect, it's superior in every gameplay aspect, too. Heck, it practically annihilates "Extreme G3" and the last two "F-Zero" games released.

Maxim Online

It’s the perfect game for men who like speed and men who like thongs (and you know who you are). We can only imagine that Kinetica 2 will feature racing car women who secrete beer.

Game Revolution

A cool game that's been suspended from greatness due to its less-than-stellar track design, lame weapons and stunts that are often not as cool as they should be.

Cinescape

While the core of the game is pretty bland, the trick system is excellent.

GamePen

No matter how you stack it, Kinetica plays like "F-Zero" and "SSX"’s evil offspring. Taking the best of both games, Sony has made a great genre slightly better.

GamePro

Despite its setbacks, Kinetica is a decent racer that’s worth trying—it offers a phenomenal visual rush into new age racing.

PSX Nation

A unique trick system combined with beautiful graphic design are enough to give it a whirl. Difficult is the key word.

GameSpot

The interesting character design and unique stunt system set it apart from the pack, but the fluctuating frame rate, track design issues, and poor sensation of speed hold it back from being a really good futuristic racing game.

GameCritics

The changes Kinetica introduces into the formula are so miniscule, for the most part, that only a true connoisseur would notice or care.

Next Generation Magazine

There are fleeting moments when you’ll have absolutely no idea where you are or what just happened before eventually realizing that it’s impossible to really wipe out or "come off" the track. [Dec 2001, p.105]

My boyfriend and I love to compete i this game. We have found that out-doing each other's record times in ech track is both fun and competitive. We just want to know, what's next???

Tristan M. gave it a 9:
KICK ASS! The more you play the hard the game gets I mean it. The AI trys to win and it does not give up like other games. The only set back the game is too short. Also if you blank you are likly to hit a wall or some thing. But it is worth buying.

Pavel A. gave it a 9:
Awesome graphics sound and gameplay the only problem is that it's a little too hard.

John B. gave it a 10:
I think its a wonderful game (for hardcore futuristic race fans).

Cipher Nodus gave it a 9:
The game is very addictive. Its a notch above XG3 because you actually move as opposed to strafing in XG3. The only thing the game is missing is a sequel. Oh and of course gotta love the girls...
