Oh sweet mother of mercy, this is why I picked up a joystick in the first place. Klonoa 2 is as close to a flawless game as I've ever seen.

The music almost has a Mario-like atmosphere to it although with some weird Japanese sound to it, which is great to hear while playing a platformer.

While the story isn't quite as moving as the original, Klonoa 2 has a wonderful mix of action, great control, nice challenge (if you try to really complete the game), and just beautiful presentation.

With the aid of PS2 graphics, not only is Klonoa the star of a superior platformer, he's the star of one of the most beautiful games available.

I can’t think of the last time I sat down to play a game and I smiled so much that my face actually started to hurt. That’s what Klonoa 2: Lunatea’s Veil did for me.

This is crack cocaine, lottery tickets, booze, coffee and your-Robert Downey Jr.-consumed-drug-of-choice addiction of choice, all squeezed into a playable PS2 platforming experience that runs/talk/looks like a 2.5D duck.

Casual gamers will no doubt be driven off by its lack of special items and overall difficulty, but for those who can appreciate this type of game, it is a rich and beautiful experience that leaves one craving another sequel.

Because of its airtight gameplay, awesome visuals, and great soundtrack, Klonoa 2 is an almost perfect platform game--almost.

This one is a little joy to play that’s packed with an innocence that will fail to raise bile in the mouths of even those for whom fluffy white bunnies amount to nothing more than medical testing fodder.

While not as innovative and different as I had hoped it to be, there is no denying that Klonoa 2 kicks the same amount of butt that it's predecessor did.

Falls just shy of a perfect platformer, but comes darn close to being one of the best I've ever played.

Despite the wealth of eye-candy, the true brilliance behind the game is the sharp level design. [Sept 2001, p.141]

It's a short ride, but one that's filled with wondrous images, an engrossing story and solid, thoroughly entertaining gameplay.

Although the game has a story, plot has never been the strong point of any platformer. In the case of "Klonoa" it's more saccharine than usual and indulges in the same plodding mumbo-jumbo found in console RPGs.

All in all it's not really much of a replay incentive as the levels are fairly simplistic and very linear. However, it's worth hanging on to the game solely because it can be hard to find, and also because it's a unique experience on the PS2.

[Anonymous] gave it a10:
Without a doubt the most underrated platformer of our generation. The graphics are some of the most beautiful on the PS2 and the gameplay is highly entertaining with satisfying challenges and innovative (hell it nearly perfected the 2.5D genre of gaming). If you can look past the cuesy atmosphere, You'll find a game ready to be enjoyed in both gameplay and story.

SYC gave it a10:
The PS2 is home to some of the best platformers ever made. and for me, this is the best of the lot! Simple but well thought out, balanced and addictive. Klonoa 2 manages to invoke a calm determination while playing that not many games can capture. An outstanding platform game by any measure and my personal favorite of all time. It's just a shame that it didn't get the attention it rightly deserves.

Kidder kills gave it a10:
Trust me, if I could have given it a higher rating, I would have, this the greatest platform game, in fact THE greatest game in the history of the universe. Klonoa 2, like the original Klonoa, has enough plot twist and addictive levels to hook any gamer! PS. Another gamer on this sight called the surfing levels "Half-hearted", to that gamer I say "you're lucky you didn't have to put your real adrtess to get onto this sight, DO NOT KNOCK THE SURFING LEVELS!"

Budok gave it a 10:
Before i played Klonoa 2 I rented first the Klonoa Door to Phantomile and i Found both games to be fun in a simple style yet with a good story and a sad ending, although the game is rather too short but still it could entertain you for a few hours. Anyway i recommend first playing the old klonoa version before playing the second installation so you could appreciate the game.(",)

Ziggy Stardust gave it a 5:
Far too short!! But otherwise excellent.

B. S. gave it a 9:
Kewl but a little short.

Toni H. gave it a 10:
I love this game! Leorina and Tat are definatly my faves! I can't put the controller down once I start playing. I can't play it right now anyway because my brother's TV speakers are busted right now.
