Motor Mayhem isnt a bad game, but its hampered by a combination of small, annoying slights that keep it from being the game it could be.

MM surprised me with its slick graphical engine, solid game play, and involving depth and appeal. One thing that makes MM stand out is the fact its more of a futuristic sport, than a plain old kill and destroy storyline.

It just seems that even with the unique ideas and pretty graphics, they never quite managed to pull it all together, and its just not all that much fun.

Different enough that it will appeal to those gamers who have an interest in the car-combat genre or aren't excited about the new turn for the morbid that Twisted Metal has taken.

Motor Mayhem has some qualities that may appeal to those of us who can't resist a challenge against near-impossible odds. On the other hand, those same people may feel that the comical characters and poor sound effects detract from the intent of the game.

The game doesnt offer enough depth to fans of the genre, whilst those new like me, would be better off with "Twisted Metal Black."

The vehicle and character designs seem to have been built from a kit consisting of ideas from games that share a similar theme, and in such a hurry that someone forgot to add grime and wear definitions.

Even if you completely wipe clean your memory of "Twisted Metal: Black" and just look at MM all by itself, you will still see a fairly shallow game that lacks any sort of discernable charm. The game's characters are lifeless and are completely devoid of personality.

Gripping sound effects and a mind-blowing arsenal will keep you coming back for more...but only for a short while. You'll tire relatively quickly, and realize that "Twisted Metal: Black" is a clear winner.

This aint no "Twisted Metal: Black." If Motor Mayhem had come out last October we might have recommended it; as it is, there's no real competition.

Nowhere near the king of the car combat genre (that'd be "TM Black" BTW), MM still manages to be decent-enough to be worth renting and beating together with a pal over a lazy summer weekend.

Bad physics, bad level design and a paltry choice of vehicles overshadow the cool weapons and interactive maps. Where's "Twisted Metal Black" when you need it?

Motor Mayhem has outstanding graphics and an impressive arsenal of weapons. However, the good stuff ends there.

The flaccid sounds are joined by dreadful physicsits like driving a balloon. The fighting game-style combo system is unwieldy, and a sense of speed would have been a good idea, too.

Julian H. gave it a 3:
I played this game in single mode, then with my little brother. The game just seemed boring to me. The graphics are nice, but the gameplay sucks to me.
Gottahate Thisgame gave it a 5:
Bad timing and poor game play make for a bad combination... it's always good to remember that David and Goliath was just a story....
Richard A. gave it a 10:
For what this game is supposed to do, it does it wonderfully. It is fast paced, there are four special weapons per vehicle, and tons of upgrades.
