Summary
Clank's on a mission. His best buddy, Ratchet, has been framed by a ruthless enemy and jailed for a crime he did not commit. Not only that, but Ratchet's maximum security prison is full of the universe's most dangerous criminals most of whom are lining up to personally 'welcome' Ratchet into his new cell. Luckily for Ratchet he’s got Clank on the outside, and luckily for Clank he's the kind of brainy little robot who is cool under pressure and knows a thing or two about tracking down a mysterious enemy. That's why, as Secret Agent Clank, he's hot on the trail of clues to unravel the mystery and secure Ratchet’s release from jail. Unleash Clank's cutting edge array of weapons and gadgets, such as Cufflink Bombs, Tie-a-Rangs, Spy Sunglasses and the ever helpful Holo-Disguise Monocle. Launch into a variety of gameplay styles from all-out action to cunning stealth and brain-busting puzzle solving. Drive state-of-the-art super spy vehicles including speedboats, snowboards and sports cars. Play as Clank, Ratchet and even Captain Qwark to gather enough evidence to set Ratchet free and discover who framed the innocent Lombax. [SCEA]

It's best attribute is its price - half that of the PSP game. [Sept 2009, p.81]

The game's humor and good gameplay definitely saved this game from its obvious flaws of controls and glitches. Some gamers will like the game, and it will annoy some. But if you are a Ratchet and Clank fan, don't pass it up.

There are some really fun nuggets to be found in Secret Agent Clank, but for every one thing the game does right, it does two or three other things terribly wrong.

Disappointingly Secret Agent Clank falls short of its rich and storied past. The game is a direct port of the PSP game with very little if anything added.

On PSP, Secret Agent Clank wasn't much to get excited about, and the PS2 version isn't much different. The gameplay is the same mix of fun Ratchet and Clank dialogue mixed with mundane mini-games, Qwark's missions still break the pacing of the game and you won't feel like a spy by the end of the title.

Fans of Ratchet and Clank who do not own a PSP will be the only ones who will definitely want to check this game out. But keep in mind, it's a short game, coming in at around 8 hours tops. So this may be a rental only if you have to play this game.

This one's best left to diehard fans that can't bear to let anything Ratchet & Clank pass them by. Everyone else should let it go quietly away into the dark.

No longer a sidekick Clank tries to be the hero of a game, unfortunately he fails in this psp port for the Playstation 2. A well devised gameplay is plagued by camera issues, poor detailed visuals and a limping frame rate.

Honestly there is zero value in this game and in the end I would recommend playing one of the other far superior Ratchet and Clank games or mow the lawn.
