TotalGames.net
A game of high scores, precision and unlocking further stages to then score high on. Its a game that flies in the face of new fads like stealth modes, world-building sims and realism in favour of old-skool thrills and kills.

Doesnt necessarily revolutionize the gaming experiencethe game does, however, offer a fine continuation to the already classic series.

Good, but a multiplayer mode would have been nice. [Nov 2002, p.128]
GameSpy
Fans of the series will love Silent Scope 3, though the game may be too difficult for everyone else.

You're basically getting two games in one here, and both are a lot of fun, not to mention loaded with replay value. [Nov 2002, p.190]
Game Over Online
The plot and graphics are weak, and the gameplay, while fun for a little while, quickly becomes dull because of the absence of a sniper rifle-style light gun.

Even if you play through both titles multiple times to see all of the branching missions, you can still blow through it in a day or two. [Dec 2002, p.218]
GameSpot
A decent adaptation of the arcade series, and offers a sometimes enjoyable but extremely brief experience.

The major fault of Silent Scope 3 is that it's more of the same, just memory and repetition.

The great physical satisfaction from the arcade game is lost without the honking-big sniper rifle. [Dec 2002, p.60]
PSX Nation
Shame that the outdated graphics, effective-but-simplistic (i.e. recycled) sound effects and still-awkward Dual Shock 2 control relegate Silent Scope 3 to the realm of rental material.

A cookie cutter light-gun game offering little to nothing more than the content of the first two games.

Tox gave it a 3:
Offered so much, yet delivered so little. Got into the game, thought "this is fun"... bit of sniping, what more could you want. Was a bit disappointed that I couldn't move around the map myself... well, it *is* only an arcade port after all. Finished the first mission on the first go, got to the map... oh yeah, there are a a few missions here on stage 1. Hang on... isn't there any other stages? Is that *all* the missions that there are? You're kidding! $109 for this??? No wonder they're shipping the first game with it. What a rip-off! Took it back to the store and took advantage of their superb "returns" policy. Now deep in the throes of Grand Theft Auto - Vice City. In short - the only exceptional thing about it is how ordinary it is.
Bill gave it a 10:
Everyone bitches about the fact that this game doesn't come with a workable (..or honking) sniper rifle, alright fine, it should have come with one but IT DOESN'T and personally, I think it adds to the challenge of popping terrorists in the head, which I find rewarding and I find this game fun to play and have played it for hours on end without tiring.

Impeccable timing on the release.
