Summary
Mr. Burns is up to his greedy ways again, purchasing the Springfield Transit Corporation and jacking up the fares. Refusing to shell out the high rates, Springfield citizens are forced into humorous Simpsons "road rage" as they brave commuters, jam-packed back-routes and the challenge to make enough money to buy back the Transit Corporation before time runs out. No time for donuts, Homer. [Electronic Arts]

You have the instant playability of the Dreamcast classic ["Crazy Taxi"], but with television's favourite family stuck onto it. How can it go wrong?

The details and references to the TV show will provide non-stop amazement.

This reckless, Crazy Taxilike romp around town is like a high-speed dream tour for fans of the series. Almost every Simpsons character in the game is either a driver or a passenger.

It looks a little worse than the Xbox version, but moves a bit faster and controls slightly better. [Dec 2001, p.93]
PSX Nation
Easily the best console Simpsons game ever. Considering that the lot its in is comprised primarily of crap that isnt surprising but the fact that I like this game better than Crazy Taxi might be.

All the Simpsons characters and environments are lovingly and faithfully recreated, replete with references to specific events in episodes.

Its a fairly well done one but the controls are not nearly as precise [as "Crazy Taxi"], the moves not nearly as cool and the concept is more stale than Apu's old donuts.

Ok so The Simpsons are getting better in the games industry, "Simpsons Wrestling" was diabolical and should never of been created. The Simpsons Road Rage is a decent game.

Maybe its because Im such a big fan of the series but I absolutely love this game.

In the very least it will provide a good laugh and a desire to watch some re-runs.

What makes this game rise above its humble beginnings are the tons of unlockable characters and the six different environments.

Road Rage suffers from a number of problems, not the least of which is bad collision detection. You'll often find yourself clipping a corner of a building or slamming into another car even though you have room to spare.

Non-fans just won't have much reason to play. [Jan 2002, p.134]

Write 'I will not rip off other games, stick in a cult TV licence and rake in the cash' out 100 times.

Like "Crazy Taxi," this game is fun for a few minutes at a time, but its not an engrossing experience. I liked it a little better than I did "Crazy Taxi," because I am a Simpsons fan.

The lack of gameplay ingenuity, long load times and crappy graphics will turn most off. But Simpsons fans will love the game anyway.

So it seems like we have a pretty solid game here. Not brilliant, but fun and dorky, maybe a "B." But there's a horrible curse on this game: the worst loading times ever. You can spend more time waiting around than actually playing Road Rage.

While it certainly doesnt have the graphical prowess of Crazy Taxi the real character voices and classic Simpsons sense of humor make it worth a rental.

The developers have done an excellent job of making use of the well-loved license, but the end product is a very average videogame.

It's just unfortunate that technical problems and repetitive audio samples cause annoyance throughout.

Nothing more than a third-rate "Crazy Taxi" knockoff, but minus the technique, slick visuals, and overall fun of its source material.

[It] would make a fine purchase for masochists and parents looking to punish their kids. Other than that, gamers could play "Crazy Taxi," and then watch an episode of the TV show to end up ten times more satisfied than this game will make them.

This is exellent, no, it is not a racing game, but is is fab I'd say nearly the best I've ever played.
Matt A. gave it an8:
This game is actually a really fun game. Although it can get boring after a short period of time, I always seem to wanna come back and play it...The Simpsons quotes are classic and halarious, multiplayer is great and never gets boring, and the graphics overall are pretty good, and the locations are huge and u never get bored trying to find the small shortcuts...on the downside, i found it took 4ever to load (like 2 minutesfor every game), and like i said, got boring after playing it for like 20 or so minutes, and mission modes arent that great, they probably could've made a couple more locations, i think they spent way too much time trying to make all of the vehicles, but thats about it...overall if ur a simpsons fan like me, and dont try and look into every little detail in video games, this game is fun, funny, and very entertaining.

Kicks mega ass!

|Thumbs-Up (10) - The story plot, the hilarious quotes, characters: relating to the show, and multiplayer mode.| |Thumbs-Down (0) - Loading time: a huge disaster, boring: after a while, and bugs.| Overall, I would recommend "Road Rage" to Simpson fans, and would definitely be of a Blockbuster rental.
Hit Run gave it a 10:
This game Rules with Classic Simpsons lines such as "ow my ass!" and an awesome multiplayer. What can go wrong?
Ryan M. gave it an 8:
Simpsons Road Rage is absolute crap if not in multiplayer mode. When playing with two people this game is fun, addictive, and a overall great game to play. Yes, this game has great voices accurate to the show, and great characters, true to the show. I have only one major comment on this game and that is the loading times, which are unbearable. I can literally go downstairs, grab a drink, and have a long conversation with someone before the game begins. This game is a one player rating of 0 and a 2 player rating of 10.
Andrew J. gave it a 7:
If you're a Simpsons fan and don't expect too much, you will definitely enjoy this game.
