Roll on summer - the weather's good, the nights are long, it's the perfect time to get everyone together for a party - and SingStar's going to be right there with you. SingStar Summer Party for PlayStation2 features great tracks that are just perfect for those hot summer nights. We're talking about classic songs and videos that just capture that summer feeling: tracks from Blondie, Rihanna, David Bowie, Klaxons and Peter Andre to name just a few. [Sony]

Boil it down to a basic ratio of Great Summery Songs You'll Want To Sing At A Barbecue versus Songs That Don't Really Fit Together But Students Will Probably Like Them and this disc comes up as a clear winner.

As always, whether or not the game is for you really boils down to your taste in music, and how that relates to the tracks chosen on the disc, but with a combination of modern hits and true classics that are a pleasure to sing as Karaoke it’s difficult to imagine a group of people that wouldn’t have some fun using SingStar Summer Party as the basis for a party.

Hardly seasonal but a good selection of indy, pop and white-lady soul. [June 2008, p.82]

It's next to impossible to award a score since it's all going to be down to musical taste but a quick flick through my fiances extensive SingStar collections shows Summer Party to be one of the stronger entries into the series in my opinion.

A decent addition to your SingStar library, but "Rocks!" or "Rock Ballads" are better if you're new to this karaoke franchise. [May 2008, p.83]

So while the majority of pop fans will no doubt find one or two tracks in here to tickle their fancy and test their vocal chords, Singstar Summer Party comes across as a fairly generic collection with a purpose of padding out your karaoke collection – and Sony’s pockets.

Yet another Singstar title utilising the the same formula as prior entries, this time offering us songs that are deemed summer hits. The problem is that few of the songs can actually be called hits. Though lacking in numbers, the few good songs are enough to make this package worthwhile.
