The best racing game of the year..."Gran Turismo 2" and "3" are just as good, but they are definitely not better than Splashdown.

As long as you dont mind a slightly more technical feel and a hefty challenge, youll find the best thing to happen with jetskis since the N64s Wave Race.

If you like your racing fast, fun, highly controllable and mouth-wateringly gorgeous to look at, however, then this is definitely one title you want to add to your pool of games.

One of the best looking water games with lots of tricky entertainment and wet fun for everyone, newbie and pro, to enjoy.

GameCube's Wave Race will receive the hype this holiday season, but Splashdown's sexy curves and what it can do with them are much more appealing to me. [Dec 2001, p.95]
Total Video Games
The graphics are fresh and the water effects are fantastic. Youll find it hard to get bored of this title.

Each of the 9 riders has their own ending movie which is well worth the effort to unlock.

Highly addictive...Even after having played in the area of 20 hours of this game, I still find myself distracted by just how good it looks.

If you can live with drop dead gorgeous tracks and great physics, you'll find a lot to love in Splashdown.

Splashdown has amazingly distracting watery visuals, great draw-in distances, offers a large challenge for one or two players, and is a joy to control.

A game no library should be without. Splashdown is THE game to own for fast-paced purified racing graphical gaming goodness.

Easy to handle control, a decent trick system, and the all important water physics are down pat.

This is a better game than "Wave Race: Blue Storm." It may not have the wave physics that Nintendo's racer has (or many waves at all for that matter), but it runs away with the look of the water, control, and playability.

With intuitive control, superb graphics, and a catchy soundtrack, Splashdown is an excellent Jet Ski racing game.

I have never seen water this realistic in a video game. [Jan 2002, p.136]
PSX Nation
Incredibly fun physics which give you the feeling of actually riding on a waterbased vehicle.

The controls are easy to learn, races are challenging without being unbeatably difficult, and the terrain is rich and varied.

Incredibly addictive and loads of fun...Sadly, the game only takes a few hours to beat on easy, and is ridiculously hard on the higher difficulty setting.

A good racing game that--with a few tweaks-- could have easily been one of the greatest.

It strikes a perfect balance between racing and aerial trickery so one doesnt overshadow the other theyre equally important. [Jan 2002, p.220]
All Game Guide
A great choice for those seeking a fun, arcade-style racer, but it also has enough depth and variety to keep players interested beyond the first few hours of play.

It's difficult to remember which tricks youve performed in a race, and which ones have yet to be done... It would have been nice to have stunts reset after a while.

GREAT boat racing game..Realisitic water and effects..
J. M. gave it a 7:
I owned both this for PS2 and Wave Race Blue Storm for Gamecube. Both are good games, but I preferred Wave Race BS alot more. It's got better graphics, sound, characters, and level design among other things. I ended up selling Splashdown but I still own Wave Race BS which is now almost 3 years later.
K Rice gave it a 9:
A definite "must have" for those who like racing. NO MATTER WHAT AGE! We have torn this one up and still find it challenging for an 8 yr old or an adult. Great family game.
Kitty N. gave it a 10:
BUT THIS GAME! The graphics in Splashdown are awesome! In free ride mode, drive off the course. It's almost like the game space doesn't end. The stunts are also cool, and looking for wetsuits provides you with a challenge. Like I said, buy this game.
Full Energy gave it a 10:
This game is awesome, honestly I think Splashdown is much better than "Wave Race" for GameCube. One more thing : Splashdown Kick ass!!!
Chase P. gave it a 10:
This game is awesome. It's like Jet Moto, but much much better.
