GamePro
The controls are dead-on perfect, but somewhere along the way, someone forgot to take advantage of the PlayStation 2s processing powersomething thats readily apparent in the sights and sounds.

Poor translations and horrible voice-acting aside, Super Bust-A-Move 2 is a fun and often frantic game that should be a part of any puzzle game fan's library.

But why only 2 players? [Nov 2002, p.52]
Game Informer
If you happen to be a huge fan of the series, I'm certain you'll appreciate the small additions and changes. [Dec 2002, p.123]
GameCritics
There are enough new features to ensure that the game is more than just a stagnant rehash, and the sheer depth of options is enough to keep the experience fresh for a long time - certainly long enough to get your money's worth and more.

One of the best puzzlers to ever grace a console, and almost a must-have party game.

I DO dig the new Chain Reaction mode though, and the Puzzle Edit feature was well worth the time that I spent with it.

With multiplayer addiction to spare, a Chain Reaction twist on the decade-old formula and a new candy-colored coat of 2D hand-drawn paint, Super BAM 2 improves enough over the two-year old prequel to still be worth checking out.

If you're not going to mess with the editor, there aren't many reasons to get this new version if you own older copies of the game.

The game does nothing new - yet I still played through it several times and enjoyed myself thoroughly. [Dec 2002, p.172]
G4 TV
With graphics and a soundtrack that are identical to SBaM, and the eight returning characters unchanged by even a hair, this game is more like a re-release of SBaM than its own unique title.

Has absolutely no significance for anyone but hard-core Bust-A-Move completists.

Christie Y. gave it a 7:
This game is alright. I guess I prefer the old version one better. This new one's color and graphics look too colorful, especially when the firework jump out... OMG... I couldn't see the those bubbles at all!
Ryan M. gave it a 10:
In my years of gaming, never have I seen such a perfect, polished classic as the Bust-A-Move series.
