The online play itself is great. It's unpredictable, challenging and enthralling. It's here that you will practice your voodoo of mind reading and psychological profiling.
PSM Magazine
As a bargain-priced take on what you're seeing on TV, this one rates as an off-suited pair - something to play with, but don't bet the mortgage on it. [Feb 2005, p.80]
PSX Extreme
I wish the presentation were more exciting, particularly the graphics, which could possibly put poker newbies to sleep before the first hand is over, but the game makes up for that shortcoming (somewhat) thanks to its deep selection of poker variants and tournaments.

Ultimately a decent effort, but only because of its online play. The offline component of the game is simply too pointless and spotty to hold anyone's attention.

Thanks to solid gameplay, realistic AI, value pricing and especially the unique online features – Host Migration, persistent funds, EyeToy and USB headset support – World Championship Poker can proudly stand near the top of the bargain bin.

Poker videogames need either brilliant Artificial Intelligence for offline single-player games or excellent online modes that factor in human fallibility for multiplayer competition. World Championship Poker lacks the former, and the latter isn’t up to the standard of online poker websites.

I don't see why Crave decided to just stick with twelve variants of poker and not include other variations which could have added weeks of replay value to the game.

Why can't you have more than six players at a table? [March 2005, p.95]

Chris N. gave it a0:
This is quite possibly the most boring game ever - and I am a huge poker fan. The AI is terrible - Hold on to your hats...I think he's gonna check again!
Bob N. gave it an8:
Better than most computer games, but A.I. doesn't have the players play very smart, even at the highest level.
Sam 4027064258 l gave it a9:
I love it and the playing with guys online is awesome.
Andrew C. gave it an 8:
It's a pretty good game. However, the player gets outdrawn on the last card way too often. Some of it is a part of the game, but it knocks my rating down a little bit.
Cory G. gave it a 10:
This game is sweet.
Herb B. gave it a 10:
Best poker game ever, just like being at the WSP !
