The island is roughly the size of Downtown Paradise, but features gameplay unlike any other area in the game. Aside from the odd quirk, including a fake wall that would send our car falling through the island’s geometry, and the game’s laborious new front-end (see sidebar), Big Surf is an extended sugar rush of an add-on that almost makes Paradise City feel staid, and as such is the most essential to date.
