Summary

(Downloadable Content) Buy a ticket and hop onboard the Duchess Gambit, as Tobar the Ferryman takes you to the strange seaside town of Point Lookout. What secrets does the dilapidated boardwalk hold? Who lives in the sprawling mansion? Why is the Punga Fruit so important? And what horrors lie in the depths of the murky swamp? Point Lookout is the most open-ended DLC yet, and allows you to explore an entirely new and expansive gameplay area any way you’d like. A completely new questline allows you uncover the town’s hidden secrets, and wield powerful new weapons like the Double-Barrel Shotgun against the swamp’s dangerous, and deformed, denizens. So venture to Point Lookout, if you dare. Just pray it’s not a one-way trip. [Bethesda Softworks]

IGN

Point Lookout is one of the better Fallout 3 expansions and feels well worth the $10 price tag. There's a brand new area with over a half dozen trippy and exciting missions to find and work through. Plus, there are inbred hillbillies. If you're still looking for more Fallout 3, definitely give Point Lookout a try.

Although the main quest is a little short and the rewards leave much to be desired one of the better Fallout 3-add-ons.

If you have the patience and memory to save often, Fallout 3 DLC doesn’t get any better than this.

Ian G gave it a9:
As far as Fallout DLC goes, this is what it should be all about. Instead of being stuck in a linear situation like Operation: Anchorage and The Pitt, Point Lookout gives you a large, beautiful part of Maryland to explore. Here, you will find a great deal to do. There is much exploring to be done, and many items to be found. There is a 'Main Mission', but it is surrounded by side missions of all sorts, with the classic 'many ways to get through them' that Fallout does so well. The only flaw I see would be how, as most DLC, it does not integrate itself into the main storyline in anyway other then providing you with new weapons and perks. This means you can just slap this adventure right on top of your already completed game without any disadvantage and soar right through it in just hours. So my suggestion is to either start a new game and get to this eventually, or load a lower leveled point of time, or else this DLC will be gone in a flash. Otherwise, this is exactly the Fallout you know and love.
