Think of coming home tired and wanting to watch a movie. You have The Usual Suspects and Die Hard in front of you. You know that the former will provide ample action and plot twists, but that it’s easier to have someone mindlessly shout “Yipee-Kai-Ay” and blow things up. So very much like the Lego games before it that it just feels like a palette swap. All the destruction, missiles, and making cannons out of Lego doesn’t seem very Batman-like. Plus Clayface looks like a turd.
