Summary
[Playstation Network] NovaStrike is a top-down arcade shooter in which you take control of a prototype advanced Scythe fighter and combat invading Draelus aliens over four different planets. You’ll take on both air and ground opponents ranging from enemy fighters to capital ships and ultimately the end-Boss. As you progress the Scythe unlocks its full potential through upgrading its weapon systems and overall capabilities.

Playstation Universe
Although the harsh difficulty and lack of multiplayer may offset some potential players, NovaStrike’s open areas and unique mission structure are reason enough to give it a shot.

While NovaStrike is certainly a fun game, it doesn't offer up the ton of value and replayability that other shooters on the PlayStation Network offer in the same $10 price range.

Unless you've got some odd fascination with the genre, just don't bother.

Well, we’ve enjoyed our time battling the Draelus, and for the price tag it’s hard to argue against the value. There are issues that need addressing, so perhaps with enough attention Tiki Games will be able to deliver a sequel?
Definitely a competent shooter, but fails to exceed in any one department. Everything about it feels incredibly average, and the difficult challenge available is the only thing I can see really appealing to gamers that enjoy the genre.

There are better games already out, but if you’re bored of them, need a trophy boost or just have an interest in this kind of shooter, know that it is an above average game, but at a price that should be reserved for much greater games at this length.

This low-rent top-down alien blaster doesn't even seem to be trying. [Jan 2009, p.104]
IGN
The gameplay is extremely bland, with only larger numbers of ships, bullets and targets awaiting on higher difficulty levels. Scythe aim is too imprecise, and accidental destruction of allies is way too easy. Visuals are too generic and extremely small unless you're immediately next to the screen.
