Outrun Online Arcade is largely the same game that it's been for the last 23 years, which is to say that it's a simple and fun arcade racer that works great as a time killer, but it's nothing that's going to entertain for hours at a time.

OutRun Online Arcade is unbelievably fun once you settle in to the drift-focused arcade racing, and at 800 MS Points/£7.99 it feels like good value for money, but it's not the perfect version of the game we hoped it would be. Visually the frame rate issues are a big disappointment and the online functionality seems basic.

OutRun Online Arcade is a solid arcade racer, with several modes and a decent online multiplayer for up to six players. The graphics are always fast, colorful, with awesome landscapes. Too bad there are some frame rate issues, while the controls are precise, flexible and responsive. Definitely a must for every nostalgic OutRun fan out there.

Outrun Online Arcade brings back old memories from the coin-op days. Although we had hoped for more tracks, more original music and local coop mode - the game should still make Outrun-fans content, and is well worth the money. Decent, but not perfect.

So, not perfect by any stretch, but as close as we could have hoped for. The visuals are fine, blessed with the classic Sega styling that has kept us keen followers of the brand for years; the frame rate is superb; online works reasonably well and best of all the Dual Shock 3 seems like a perfect match for the drift happy delicate controls needed to get those top scores.
