Games Master UK
On the one hand, it's the same game with new online features. But this will be huge online. [Nov 2007, p.79]

Playstation Official Magazine UK
Unless you're the sort of misanthrope who never invites people over to your place, new Singstar is essential to the PS3 experience. [Oct 2007, p.90]

Dangerously compelling entertainment.

Coupled with alcohol, SingStar is definitely an improvement now that it’s on PS3, even if that’s simply because it’s all shiny and new and you can pretty much create your own collection thanks to the SingStore.

Pelit (Finland)
Playing SingStar with friends is still as fun as it ever was. The song selection on the game disc may be average at best but SingStore is a great way to get more, more, must get more! The songs are moderately priced and almost too easy to pick, pay and download. Also being able to see other peoples performances is great reality tv. [Jan 2008]

Singstar for the PlayStation 3 isn't fundamentally different from its predecessors but there is very little left to change for the franchise. With a great soundtrack and some long overdue online features, Singstar is a great continuation of the series.

The complete party package, made yet more essential by all the new features. [Nov 2007, p.68]

The constant flow of new content makes it a game that will last as long as Sony’s console does – that is, if you’re prepared to make the financial investment required to maintain a song library. [Nov 2007, p.95]

Boomtown
It remains the best incarnation of the franchise.

It's SingStar but with just enough tweaks and additions to make it feel part of a different generation. It might be tainted with slight cynicism, but there is no getting away from the fact that this is still an incredibly good party game. [Issue#159, p.86]

SingStore and My SingStar are brilliant additions which significantly change the SingStar experience.

Apparently you can play games on the PlayStation 3, but it certainly looks like a top of the range karaoke machine from where I'm standing, on centre stage in my living room stadium.

What IS different, and what makes the game worth its purchase price, is the addition of the Singstore.

All in all SingStar is a great game, instantly accessible with nothing to unlock, but plenty of downloadable content available online.

More than a game, SingStar is a vital offering, that will - hopefully – become more and more robust in the next few months.

SingStar virgins and hardcore fans could do a lot worse than start here, but for everyone in between, it may be worth waiting for the SingStore to fill before making the jump.

Paul E. gave it a5:
Wireless microphones and hundred of downloadable songs were promised on launch, but never materialized. The song selection is poor, some of the songs are difficult to sing and the melodies are indistinct. Game modes are lacking can't I sing one song, a friend sing another and then the best score wins. The only way to compete is to sing the same song at the same time. Disappointing.

Stefan H. gave it a9:
Great game! The BEST party game!
