Summary
Stuntman: Ignition is the next installment in the Stuntman franchise. The game plunges gamers into the adrenaline-fueled role of a Hollywood stunt driver, challenging them to pull off the most breathtaking, death-defying stunts ever filmed. Players showcase their skills in a wide variety of big-budget action films, commercial shoots and tournaments while commanding more than 25 unique vehicles, including exotic sports cars, motorcycles and hovercraft. Online multiplayer allows rival stuntmen to battle it out on the film sets and custom built back-lot arenas, or players can devise their own insane stunt runs and challenge other stuntmen at their own game. It's been a long time since I've had as much fun playing a videogame as I've had playing Stuntman: Ignition. It's furiously fast, awesomely addictive and gives rise to some fantastic multiplayer grudges! Ignition could well become to driving games what Bullit's chase scene is to driving films.

Stuntman: Ignition is a total blast. It has great physics and handling and stunts that are totally insane but also typical of the current Hollywood blockbuster.

This game earns its stripes by letting players have more of a hand in creating their own style of mayhem to spice up a scene, and trust me, you’ll take every opportunity you can get.

A unique driving game which rewards constant re-tries and perfect driving. [Oct 2007, p.73]
Play UK
An incredibly satisfying challenge...However, it's not for the faint-hearted. [Issue#157, p.76]
PSM Magazine
The design is forgiving enough to get plenty of fun out of it. [Nov 2007, p.84]
VideoGamer
There's absolutely no getting away from the fact that Stuntman: Ignition is often an infuriating game, but that doesn't automatically make it a bad one. At times it feels as rigid as an old-fashioned school cane, but perseverance will reveal a highly rewarding experience.

In the end Stuntman: Ignition feels like opening night at one of the many big-budget blockbuster movies it spoofs - an expensive ticket and a long wait can get you the perfect seats for some very rewarding action.

If you come into the game with the right attitude and take it easy instead of hammering the game in one session, Stuntman: Ignition is a pretty cool game to play.

What makes Stuntman great is the sum of all of its parts. While the career mode would have been great for a cheaper title all of the additional stuff such as odd-jobs, construction mode, and of course online play make this package worth checking out for fans of driving games looking for something unique in the genre.

If the heavy focus on trial and error doesn't rattle you, Stuntman: Ignition can be some explosive fun.

Great, awful, exhilarating and painful, all in one. You'll weep with joy, or just plain weep. [Oct 2007, p.74]
IGN
If you don't like trying the same thing over and over again until you've absolutely nailed it, this isn't the game for you. But if that setup appeals to you then you'll find a fair bit to like here.

Stuntman: Ignition would benefit from a more style substance, and its methods start to run a bit thin, but that doesn't keep it from hitting an acceptable summer-blockbuster-style mark. [Sept 2007, p.77]
Playstation Official Magazine UK
The overall experience may be a little on the bitty side, but Stuntman Ignition still delivers a bracingly unique driving game. [Oct 2007, p.96]
TheSixthAxis
So, if you can put up with the repetitive nature of the game, there's plenty to enjoy here.

It's an average game, and I don't recommend a $60 purchase for it. Just like a popcorn flick isn't worth more than a rental, Stuntman: Ignition is ultimately the type of game you'd want to rent. While the multiplayer is fun and the Constructor mode is cool, the Career mode can be a bit short, and the game in general doesn't offer a whole lot to keep you coming back to.

All too often you’re baffled as to how your slick 180° spin failed to satisfy the marking criteria, only to pass on the next attempt with a clunking three-point turn. [Oct 2007, p.94]
