Gaming Age
There are very few titles on the PSN currently that play anything like it, and the mix of puzzle solving and platforming is extremely well done.

Trine is one of the most playable and likeable downloadable ‘full’ games of the last few years.

Trine is just one of those games that a casual gamer can pick up and play a little or a lot, also a heavy Impulse Gamer can feel good at having this hidden gem in their gaming collection.

Trine is a wonderful addition to the PlayStation Network and a worthy buy for anyone who enjoys cooperative games.

In short, this one is well worth a try. There are plenty of ways to spend the money in your wallet on the PSN, but few are as pretty or as uniquely rewarding.

Trine is a great game to get for some casual fun – try the demo and then splurge for the full version.

One of the most beautiful PlayStation Network games. With traditional graphics, an interesting story and really good and fine gameplay. One of the best games on the PSN to buy.

Trine is a brilliant single player title that really rewards those that like to think outside the box, and a unique gem of a game that is definitely worthy of your time.

One of the most inventive games on Sony's Playstation Network. [Issue#184, p.84]

The few rough edges that crop up as repetitive enemies and a weak link in the teamwork chain do little to detract from the very compelling whole.

A lack of enemy variety, disappointing conclusion, and the wonky multiplayer keep Trine from greatness, but this is still a highly recommended puzzle platformer.

It has turned out to be a surprisingly good game, perfectly combining several platforming elements with physics-based puzzles. Add some RPG, co-op and moody graphics and sound to the mix and you can say this game is to be recommended. Too bad there’s no online co-op and that the trophies are a bit easy to get.

Trine is a good game with beautiful graphics and nice obstacles. The enemies are a bit boring, but that doesn't reduce the huge fun factor.

Trine is a very special game. It reminds us of classic games like Another World, Flashback or Prince of Persia, but with a new gameplay based in co-op and great visuals. But it's too short and it has just one co-op game mode for 3 players in LAN, which is no good. If not for that, this would be one of the greatest downloadable games yet.

Trine is an amalgamation of true and tested old-fashioned ideas gussied up with a modern twist, and is never anything less than beautiful, engaging and enjoyable despite its occasional lack of polish.

Trine is impressive with its beautiful and addictive platforming and Lost Vikings-esque gameplay. However, there's a lack of challenge in the early parts of the game, and the short game time leaves a bit to be desired. Frozenbyte should be applauded for their efforts though, and Trine is well worth the money.

There are other platformers around, but not many can offer brains and beauty, never mind such a happy ending. [Nov 2009, p.125]
GameSpot
This gorgeous action platformer is fun on your own or with a couple of friends.

Had the potential to reach classic status, but just falls short. Nonetheless, Trine is still a breath of fresh air and an addictive platform puzzle game that deserves your attention.

All told, Trine was a stylish, clever game that certainly manages to establish its own identity.

It might not take you that long to run through and the amount of skeletons you’ll take to pieces might rack up like a Geiger counter, but this is a charming game. [Dec 2009, p.87]

The puzzles are fun and inventive. [Dec 2009, p.102]

Only on Playstation: Too much hype and delays in the launch of a very simple, short and boring game. Definitely not worth U$19.99
David M gave it an8:
I read a lot of reviews before buying this game, and would just add a couple of things that weren't clear: 1) I'm an okay gamer, but it certainly took me more than 5 hours to get through; I wonder if some of the reviewers didn't try to get the hard-to-reach chests and experience bottles, which are a big part of it. 2) The last level is nothing like the first 14, in gameplay or difficulty, and was pretty frustrating (again, I'm guessing reviewers didn't want to say they found it hard), although it wouldn't be as bad on the PC version. I'd still completely recommend the game, though.
Andrew L gave it a10:
Luckily, theres a demo available. The game is a lot of solo fun! The puzzles are simple and rewarding, getting every green vial is a challenge in itself, each one getting you closer to a level up. It plays smooth and the graphics are great. Worth buying definitely!

Enchanting! In fact I’m not that fond of fantasy and stuff, mainly because fairy tale like art design with magicians, knights and monsters can rapidly slip into motley kitsch, but the small-sized finnish developer team around Frozenbyte sure manage their (visual) craftmanship: I’ve rarely seen such astonishing and athmospherically dense illuminated levels. Much more important however is the creative gameplay not that unlike of a buoyant masterpiece LittleBigPlanet. Read more: http://jagaland.de/?p=564

Yet another game I had high hopes for and it falls flat. I mean it is a decent game but way too short and got this tired feeling to it. If this was $10 or maybe $15 I would consider it. My advice, do not buy into the hype (since us in North America have been waiting for it) and give it a pass.

I love this game!! Beautiful graphics, enchanting music and brilliant gameplay!! Must buy!!
