Playing the game is fun defined. While Pro Evolution has managed to slowly botch its own previously stellar system with each release, EA’s FIFA has been making steady progress over the last few years, culminating in this climax.

Representing this summer's European tourney, UEFA impresses in many ways: shimmering presentation, engaging game modes, and tweaks to problems that hurt "FIFA 08". [June 2008, p.78]

It’s the confirmation of everything that was great on FIFA 08 for the PS3 and Xbox 360. The gameplay is side-by-side with everything that Pro Evolution Soccer has delivered over the years and it’s better than any FIFA to date. And with its shiny presentation and online and offline modes, it’s a must have for every soccer fan out there. [Apr 2008]

EURO 2008 is undoubtedly a step forward for the FIFA series, bringing it tantalizingly close to dethroning the once all conquering "PES."

See this game as version 1.1 of FIFA 08, but focused on the UEFA European Championship, and as a nice taste of things to come in the next edition of FIFA.

UEFA Euro 2008 plays a better game of football than anything else on the market, but only just.

The big question hanging over Euro 2008 is if it's worth its price tag, given that it's essential a tweaked FIFA 08 and FIFA 09 is only a few months away? The core gameplay has been tweaked enough to make FIFA 08 feel slightly dated, but chances are FIFA 09 will improve on this even further.

If you are desperate for a good football game, you couldn't find a better game on the market, that's for sure, however a desire to play the game is not likely to last past the summer, certainly not past the probable release of FIFA 09.

A good solid soccer title which builds on previous EA soccer titles. Some glitches here and there and a high learning curve means you will need to stick at it, and might put off newcomers to the series. But an incredible match and graphics engine help to make up for this.

UEFA Euro 2008 might not be the most original game, but it certainly entertains us... On the other hand the playing time is a bit short, there are a few minor bugs and the game even lacks the Dutch football team.

An improvement on FIFA 2008 in terms of tempo of play, but this still lacks real bite. [May 2008, p.68]

Does 50 teams for the price of 570 sound like a good deal to you? If it doesn't, then you don't need UEFA Euro 2008. If it does, you also don't need UEFA Euro 2008, you need professional help. [Issue#165, p.90]
