Summary
WWE Legends of WrestleMania embraces the leading sports entertainment organization's rich history to relive, rewrite or recreate the definitive elements of WWE from the Eighties and Nineties. Players relive the entertaining lives of more than 40 larger-than-life Legends and have control over Legendary Managers, each of whom play crucial roles in match outcomes. The game's new grapple-based fighting system captures the high-energy action and drama seen in vintage WWE matches, while a historically accurate representation of past WWE telecasts sets the stage, including dynamic visual treatments, signature ring entrances, renowned commentators and notable venues. WWE Legends of WrestleMania also includes a WrestleMania Tour Mode that allows players to participate in key matches from multiple WrestleMania events, a Create-A-Legend system to develop the Legends of tomorrow, as well as online functionality for players to compete on the biggest stages in WWE history. Worth Playing
Overall, Legends of WrestleMania is the best romp through the WWE I've had the pleasure of playing in years.

For fans of WWE games, those who grew up in the 80s and 90s watching WWE wrestling, or those who always wondered who would win between John Cena and Hulk Hogan, Andre the Giant and Big Show, or how about the tag team of Cody Rhodes and Ted Dibiase Jr vs. Dusty Rhodes and Ted Dibiase; this game is a must-buy.

WWE Legends of Wrestlemania is a game that caters to everyone of my nostalgic wishes. It may be missing a few key wrestlers, such as Owen Hart, Randy Savage, Diesel, and Razor Ramon, but they can be easily created within the game's Create A Legend mode.

As with the Xbox 360 version, the PS3 version of Legends of WrestleMania is a really entertaining game. Sure, it may not be the deepest game out there but the over-the-top graphics, solid sound, and the simple gameplay all manage to recreate some great WrestleManias of past.

This is a no-brainer for anyone who still has a yellow Hulkamania shirt tucked away in their closet.

The gameplay although not perfect is quite playable that is matched with great graphics, a kickass soundtrack and good old fashioned wrestling moments.

If you’re a fan of the WWE then you probably already bought this game and really don’t need this review to convince you. For the rest of you out there I can say that if you are or were a big fan of wrestling then you should check out Legends of WrestleMania.

WWE Legends of Wrestling is the one game all old school "WWF" fans should pick up. No other wrestling title has come close to matching the same level of nostalgia that Legends conveys in its close attention to detail and Wrestlemania Tour mode.

Excessive quick time events, repeated moves and puzzling omissions (no Macho Man Randy Savage) had us griping, but overall, Legends of WrestleMania is a fun homage to wrestling's glory days.

With a ton of unlockables and dozens of classic wrestlers from the glory days of the World Wrestling Federation, Legends of WrestleMania is a fan's dream come true.

The new control scheme is, for me, a change for the better. I for one wouldn't mind a similar system employed for SDvR10, although I'd imagine hardcore fans might not agree. At the end of the day, though, what's most important is that Legends does exactly what it set out to do, and that's provide a rose-tinted nostalgia trip down 80s and 90s wrestling.

More than just a cash-in on the franchise’s glittering legacy, Legends Of Wrestlemania is the most impressive wrestling videogame since the turn of the millennium.

THQ has put together a pretty great love letter here for old school wrestling fans, and laid down a pretty good foundation for a new series.

Legends of Wrestlemania pays tribute to the classic WWE wrestlers and to the 80's & 90's generations. It's an easy-going gameplay experience for the new casual players interested in the classic legends. The huge and amazing videos and the Wrestlemania Tour mode are some of its best points. It is not the best wrestling game but is the only one offering a link between the past and the present of the WWE.

WWE Legends of Wrestlemania is a game that will keep you occupied for a long time. The fighters are cool, the movies bring back good memories and there are many modes. On the graphics-side the game has his flaws, but it is still a lot of fun to play.

As the first WWE Legends-focused title, WWE Legends of WrestleMania does a good job of creating a memorable experience that you can share with friends or enjoy all by yourself.

THQ really did a great job with this game. It's great fun in multi-player when you have some friends over. It's also fun just playing the single player mode. The classic video highlights are both interesting and funny.

Legends' pacing is really the only serious detriment to the game. The implementation of quick-time events feels more like an awkward attempt to differentiate the series from THQ’s Smackdown franchise, rather than a fresh new gameplay mechanic. Old-school grappling fans who are longing for a simpler wrestling game will likely get the most out of LoW, but those accustomed to the fast and furious pace found in SVR will have a harder time embracing the "streamlined" controls.

Legends of Wrestlemania does what exactly what you think it should. Despite some repetition and being short on gameplay content and depth, it’s a casual, enjoyable romp through the good ol’ days that put our childhood heroes (and villians) on a pedestal. Then is shines a spotlight, blasts fireworks, and points at them with a giant arrow.

WWE Legends of WrestleMania is the perfect wrestling game for the guys in their late twenties, because it's totally focused on the old school wrestlers like Hulk Hogan and Andre the Giant and on fifteen editions of WrestleMania, from 1985 to 1999. The core of the gameplay, very arcade and casual, is based on grapples made by quick time events, and way too easy and simplistic to perform very long combos and attacks.

WWE Legends of WrestleMania seems greatly at odds with the established franchise, known for its realistic simulation model and wide variety.

While Legends of WrestleMania has plenty of fun matches to participate in and a worthy roster to choose from, the streamlined controls and all-together easier difficulty make recommending this to veteran fans a hard task.
Overall it is hard to recommend for Smackdown! Vs. Raw fans under the age of 27; short of The Rock, HHH, Shaun Michaels, Stone Cold, and Hulk Hogan, most of these wrestlers have been dead or out of the spotlight for years. For anyone with a taste for some classic WWF you can't get any better than this – game wise, anyway.

WWE Legends of WrestleMania is a game sure to please the legions of nostalgic fans out there. It’s easy to pick up and play, although this could also be its biggest downfall.

Truth be told, we were put off by Legends’ quick-time event-heavy controls. Yet at the same time, we felt driven to replay matches and earn unlockables. Yes, we had fun but we griped a bunch too. Maybe the next Legends game can return to the right-analog stick action we’re so used to. Or maybe it’s we who are blinded by nostalgia.

Thanks to a bunch of different game modes, multiplayer action and the possibility to create your own unique wrestler, WWE Legends of Wrestlemania turns out to be a very complete and over the top wrestling game. And if you add up the tons of content that you can unlock by throwing your opponent through the ring, it only gets better. The game is far from perfect, but if you dig sweaty men in spandex than you will dig WWE Legends of Wrestlemania.

For fans, Legends is a diverting interactive museum and an interesting expansion of the legends included in more recent Smackdowns. [June 2009, p.78]

A somewhat nostalgic wrestling title that fails to hit the standards set by the Smackdown vs. Raw franchise. Good fun though, even with the simplified controls.

Still, I'm not really in love with the actual game, and after finishing everything (the achievements/trophies are really easy to get by the way), I find myself more interested in the concept than the actual execution.

In the end, Legends of WrestleMania fails to completely live up to its potential, but does provide a fun experience for a short time.

The historic videos are great, Road to WrestleMania is an interesting idea and who doesn't love seeing the Ultimate Warrior back in the ring? Still, the actual gameplay falls short in this one. The matches aren't that exciting, the controls are lacking, little nuances (such as proper titles) are missing and this just doesn't feel like a solid WWE offering.

Legends of Wrestlemania sustains itself mostly on nostalgia and on a simple an accessible gameplay concept. The nostalgia part is not so detailed like many passionate fans may demand, but at least it has succeeded in being accessible.

Those of you who do know your Ric Flairs from your Rick Rudes, this is a decent jaunt through the history of the biggest wrestling company on the planet, but the lack of depth means it just falls short of an essential purchase.

A lovely flashback for fans, but the insipid action wears thin. [May 2009, p.72]
1UP
The needless addition of QTEs to the formula and a relatively short single-player experience keep it from becoming a legend in its own right.

The gameplay can be fun for a little while, but it soon becomes an exercise in repetition and boredom.

Nostalgia will inspire you to check this game out, but not even nostalgia can save this slow, brief and completely disappointing game.
Unfortunately, the simplicity went a notch too far, and instead of a fun, arcade-like romp through memories of wrestling yesteryear, we're left with a wrestling game that has the best roster in 10 years, but some of the least challenging and least fun gameplay.

Bryce P gave it an8:
I liked all the trophies, legends and and game modes and all but the cheat codes and they only gave you 4 managers to choose from!
Brandon J gave it a6:
Ok this game wasn't great @ all, however the content of videos and old theme music were really cool and makes this game a worthy (DISCOUNTED) purchase 4 all throwback wrestling fans in their mid 2 late 20's like me and all those that are older & still play video games. The ability 2 import all of the wrestlers from SvR 2010 and even my created wrestlers was pretty sweet but I wish it also included the downloaded wrestlers that I paid an extra $10 for on PSN, now that would've been really cool. Unfortunately the fighting mechanic was entirely 2 simplistic but thank God it wasn't as awful as tna impacts controls (ugh). I honestly didn't play the game online due 2 the fact that SvR 2010's online lagging discouraged me & once I easily obtained every bit of content and every trophy I just didn't care 2 play it any further. The presentation of the Retro theme was awesome but the overall gameplay was a friggin mess, and hopefully if there's another LOW it'll be significantly better.

Bad Bad Bad Bad!Smackdown V.s Raw is Awsome this is Nothing Like it.This Sucks more than Transformers the Vidio game.Ok not that bad!but still its Pretty Bad.
CHris B. gave it a3:
This game would have been much better if it had the same controls as SvR 2009. THe new controls are too simplistic and feels like a single Fusion Frenzy mini-game rather than a full retail game. Roster is nice, and the ability to import is a nice addition, but meaningless due to repetitive gameplay and over-simplistic settings.
