With 100 levels, and some cunning design that tests your brain as much as your reflexes, the only persistent issue with Breakquest is the initially annoyance of the sluggish stick control. Get past that, and you've got a solid pick-up-and-play game.

If it weren't for the troublesome controls we'd be recommending this without hesitation, especially at its low price point; as it stands it's still worth a look, just be prepared for some initial frustration.

The presentation’s nice and there’s certainly a lot of ‘game’ for your money.

A crummy-looking Magic Ball, but it's not without its charms. [Dec 2009, p.18]
Pocket Gamer UK
BreakQuest impresses with creative level design and novel physics-based play but sadly suffers from fundamental control issues.

This is a poor PC port that is in no noticeable way optimized for the PSP.

Daniel Y gave it a10:
There’s a lot to like about Breakquest: a 100 levels with 3 difficulty settings and an arcade mode with further challenges to unlock for each level will see this lasting a while. Once the initial frustration with controls is over it can be a fun little game for a small price and a big challenge. Features like gravitation control helps alot and impossible to finish some levels without using it. Add one amazing arsenal of weaponry, from simple guns, larger balls and sticky paddles to GPS guided missiles and multi-ball mayhem. The weapons are one of the keys to making this game fresh, despite being based on a concept as old as the gaming dinosaurs. Recommended!
John S. gave it an8:
Tagline: Classic arcade game in a new form. I purchased it with a a PSP Go launch and it worth every cent. I haven't played original, PC version but PSP is just awesome: levels design, especially physics based, very interesting. New bonuses: guns and rockets are jsut awesome. Only two concerns:controls require some tuning to meet your player/reactions skills but once its done, everything become fine and bumper change anti-bonuses caught sometimes in inappropriate moments but its all about your reaction. Resume: Rocksolid breakout kind of game on PSP, highly recommended.
